A Moment of Silence for the Fallen

It's a sad day folks. Today we lost one of our own. She was barely 5 years old, well maintained, and to be honest, rather beautiful. Only mildly modified, but everything was done tastefully to maintain her clean, upscale look.

Thanks. No injuries. No other vehicles involved. I was the only one in the car. Other than a broken heart, I'm ok.

Now I can justify an e46 M3.

Like I said, I'm good. Heartbroken, but physically ok. I wouldn't say WOT, but throttle control (or lack thereof) gone bad.

Glad you're ok, but hopefully you keep this kind of aggressive driving on the track next time.

Drive like lightnin', crash like thunder... at least no innocent people were hurt before/during/after the idiot maneuver.

I'm glad no one was harmed but I hope you realize how dangerous it is to drive irresponsibly...Also there are more important things than "what car is next", your mistake costs others as well in the sense of insurance premiums raising state-wide...

INB4 you get criticized by the peanut gallery.

Seriously though, glad you're ok. Looks like it was a great car before the untimely makeover. Look at it as a good excuse to upgrade

Edit: Looks like I'm too late.

I expected the criticism. I've been a part of motorcycle forums for quite a while, and the chain of events for a crash thread is always the same.

The upside is that I am looking to buy a house, so this reduces my debt to income significantly. I have my bike and the weather is nice, so I'm going to relax and enjoy no car payment until after I close.

Here he is again with pejorative terms for those cautioning the OP to drive a bit more carefully!

Can't believe all the nancies/moms in this thread advising the OP such bullshit things as "don't drive like a fucking asshole," and "keep it to the track before you kill someone." What's the point of having a BMW if you can't be a complete prick on the road, amirite?? OP, keep on powersliding, homie. It's even easier on a bike... try for more entry speed next time!

Yeah, that's a good idea. Get a faster car. No offense, but you basically ran out of talent. Perhaps you should take advantage of the excellent on-track high performance driving schools your local BMWCCA likely offers. With just a couple of more tools in your box you won't have to live through this unfortunate experience again. It sucks and is a hige hassle. And it could have been far worse. A couple of weeks ago some tool in Philly ran over a young mother and her two babies when he ran out of talent. Best of luck.

+1

Why spend all the money on this car and mods if you don't mod the driver. HPDE is the best mod you can ever get!!!

I give OP credit for posting this and being honest! Please go to HPDE and show your skills in a controlled environment where you will learn yours and car's limits.

Sorry dude, that sucks. On occasion I have done a stupid thing or two. Never when any people or innocent objects are around, but I'd bet most of us on here have done something of poor judgement that could easily have turned out poorly. Hopefully lesson learned.
