0-60?

I've read different numbers for the 0-60 on 2006 330i. 5.6-6.3 is the range i've seen. Anyone know any more info? Don't want to get embarrased on the line with something like...a maxima!

BMW states a man trans will do 6.1.

Car mags get different times. A lot depends on the driver.

I'm not sure why it depends a lot on the driver. You only need to shift once to get to 60mph. Not a lot of driving technique involved. 1) Hold steering straight, 2) press gas pedal down to floor, 3) shift to 2nd gear at 6700 rpm quickly, repeat steps 1 and 2.

There is actually more to it than just changing gears quickly and having your foot to the floor!

You'll prob get 7.1!

Actually, in the "real" world it shouldn't matter too much, but we are talking about tenths of seconds here.

What RPMs are you going to launch at?

Is shifting at 6500 rpms faster than 6700?

How quick is YOUR shift?

Do you have DTC on?

What the temp?

How fat are you?

There are lots of variable, but even with all variables being the same and two exact 330s with two different drivers one car will be faster than the other.

It does in fact depend largely on the driver. It also depends on the tires, the ambient temperature, the altitude, the gasoline, the state of tune of the vehicle, the condition of the clutch, etc.

If stop light grand prix' are your thing, BMWs aren't your best choice of vehicle and you will be embarassed from time to time.

the fastest i have seen is 5.5 for the 330i and 6.1 for the 325i.. but i really dont think they are that fast or if they are that we could get them going that fast.

The car is fast enough for me, although a M3 would have been nicer.

If I take my spare tire out, fill the tank to 1/8, take out any misc. stuff like tools, etc., and I'm at a low altitude in the 70s on nice roads, DSC completely off, launch at 5,500RPMs and get a perfect shift to 2nd right before the redline, then I can do 0-60 in 5.3s...no lie.

You forget to mention that you don't eat for 24 hours prior and leave your shoes off.

You never have to. Why? Because you just dont try to race it or any other car on public roads unless you are on the race track in an official track meet.

My weight shifts from 135 to 155 on any given day. I'd need my Speed Cats to make the optimal shift.
