E91 Wagon Availability?

The missus is in the market for a wagon and we've narrowed down that we want this:

2009-2011 E91 328 xDrive
- Navigation
- Premium pkg
- Cold pkg
- Sport or M-Sport pkg
- Harman Kardon
- Satellite radio
- Manual transmission
- No white exterior, no grey interior

We found this exact car two weeks ago, but it was gone before we could blink an eye. I've done internet searches all over the country and cannot find another one like that. Is this a car that might come on the market once in a blue moon? Should we just look for a sedan with those features/options instead?

Nice choice.

Most of the MTs were RWD, not Xi.

Will be tough to find. You will have better luck with a standard "i".

tough find indeed. If you do find one, I'm sure it will retain value much better than any E90. Get connected with a local used car vendor so that they can search the auction inventory for you. That way you're in the know before they're listed.

Good luck!

You are chasing a unicorn, my friend.

My dealer buddies have told me that BMW sells ~500 wagons a year in the US. Of those, MAYBE 10% are manuals. Of those, most are not Xis. At least you want Nav and sport, most of them do have that. I did not, and ended up ordering a new one in '11. As did pretty much everyone who wanted a manual wagon. And people KEEP them...

Sad that a manual, rwd, wagon is not even an option anymore with the F31. Wankers.

I've found a couple LCI E91 wagons with manual transmissions, but they are pretty pricey. The wagons are definitely holding their value haha. One has premium, sport, navi, panoramic roof,h&k sound, but no cold weather unfortunately.
EDIT: This was just based on a quick autotrader search

Finding a RWD sedan with those options would not be an easy task. Make it a wagon, throw in xDrive and it becomes probably one of the rarest iterations of the E9x.

Expand your search nationwide. Consider what options you REALLY can't go without and what options you can forego if you have to because the chances of having that exact option list on top of being an E91 xDrive 6MT in the color options you want would almost be harder than winning the lottery.

Good luck!!

GL with the search OP.
I've never seen an E91 here in NY. Pretty sassy but always saw the 5er wagons. Strange

I have an 06 Xi with MT6, panno roof and I will never let it go.
My dealer told me I have a rare car and to hang on to it.
I got mine used in Greenwich CT.
I have seen others like this in the CT, Boston, and Minniapolis areas.
The problem with being an Xi is that they are cold climate cars which means they get abused in the winter.
If you find a MT, its not a soccer mom car, but a guy who owns a business or travels alot for a living.
There are at least 8 dealers in the Westchester/Fairfield county area - there is bound to be one in this area - try Craigslist since most by now are coming off of dealer maintenance.

They are out there. Just keep looking. Gonna have to look all over the US. I found mine in Detroit. As I live in Cleveland it wasn't too bad. Mine has nav, xenons, prem, Xdrive and of course a MT. Spend some time with your test drive because just because they cpo'd the car doesn't mean they actually did the work. Mine ended up having 4 bent wheels. One was at 36! Luckily for me the dealer I bought from in DET does recipical work with a dealer not too far away. They made good on it replacing one wheel, straightening the other 3 and doing an allignment. That made me happy. It was a 1200 dollar bill. I bought from Erhard BMW in DET. They seam to have a decent rep and I have to say they treated me well.

Yes that's my e30.

Opposite to the normal flow of BMW's, you my friend might need to look at Canada.

There's one in Sherbrooke, QC. Stock # is A545015.

Oh yea. In an X drive, the sport package is only seats and steering wheel. Not that they aren't desirable.

You can add model year 2012 to your search as well, if you want. I got mine via EU delivery last May. LeMans Blue, X-drive, manual trans, M-Sport. I looked for a lightly used car and ended up going new while I still could. Got one of the last ones off the line before production ended in May of 2012. Picked it up in Munich on May 30 of last year.

Love the car - good luck with the search!

The one in Portland? Too bad it's on the other side of the country. And white.

Thanks for the advice, I hadn't thought about the 2012s being the 'older' style. Your car looks like the one I missed out on. It was fully loaded, inlc. m-sport, manual, etc., and only had 14,500 miles. The guy sold it for $29,995. He was foreign military and had orders out of the US and needed to sell quickly (which he did, in less than 24 hours). The one day I didn't check autotrader first thing in the morning.

Sport Package and M Sport Package have same suspension. (Both "M Sport Suspension.")

When you get X Drive, you get regular suspension, you don't get the "M Sport Suspension." It's the same suspension in non sport and non msport cars.

I drove a 328 xDrive sedan with m-sport and one with no sport pkg, and they seemed different to me, as far as the feel went. Maybe the fatter steering wheel made all the difference to me. In which case, about how much would it be to buy the sport wheel and swap it out?

I would just look for the sport package. You'll appreciate the sport seats too. Also, I would think most of the manual trans models would probably have sport anyway.

When I was looking I settled for no idrive. I just couldn't find a MT with sport and idrive. I had the dealer install the BMW portable nav. Certainly nowhere near as nice as idrive, but I have nav with no wires or suction cup mount.

I hope you find everything you want! They're awesome cars, lots of fun and utility.

The wheels and seats make some difference.

I would recommend sport or m sport. You get seats, wheel, suspension on non X drive models, nice wheels, and m sport adds the different front and rear bumpers and side rocker panels.

Neither gets you the lower tighter suspension on an xi. M Sport includes M Sport Wheels, Steering wheel, Shifter, Door Sill, and Aero Package.

You can check out a 2012 E91 brochure at the following link. It will detail the differences between Sport and M Sport:
