Mechatronic Sealing Sleeve. Anything else should be done?

Hi All,

I went to get my oil changed last week and the stealership said my Mechatronic sealing sleeve was leaking and they wanted 700 bucks to replace the sleeve and clean up the area.

I decided to do this myself and I wanted to know if there is anything else that should be done while I am doing this.

I plan on buying the following kit:

http://www.thectsc.com/index.php?p=p...d=187&parent=7

and of course the sealing sleeve...

Does anyone recommend doing anything else?

I have an 08 BMW 335i.

TIA

There was an excellent and very in depth thread about this somewhere on the forum a while back....

I did a lot of searching and found the TSB and the other one from the ctsc. But didn't really find anything on other things to replace.

Thanks for the link, found that searching the forum. My main thing is since I will be under my car and replacing the sleeve, I was wondering if anything else in addition to this should be done while I have the car apart.

Is it worth to change the mechatronic adapter as well?

Do your transmission flush at the same time:

They sell different kits but while your at it, why not do your diff's as well? Transfer case? Brake fluid flush?

My understanding is that you have to remove the trans pan to access the sleeve, so why not flushing and replacing the filter at the same time?

np. i seem to remember paying around 250 total from my indy, and that included the mechatronic sleeve with installation, and all the labor related to the tranny flush/refill. I brought him the oil + pan (i bought those online). That price might have also included an engine oil change, i cant remember if i had it done at the same time or a few months later.

The sleeve that seals the connector going to the mechatronic (electronic valve body) in your transmission...I think.
