Rough cold start idle - normal?

Can anyone tell me what the issue is here? Or is this normal? I am not touching the accelerator at all. The engine is revving on its own.

Sorry for the A/C blowing in the background

Mine does the same thing. Been to the dealer 3-4 times, they can "never replicate" the issue. Some of the other posts on this say to try a fuel system cleaner. I have done it, "helped" for a little bit.

Good luck, keep us posted if you figure it out.

Do you know which one specifically? I researched yesterday and found it was for cars produced in 2010. Mine was produced in 2011

I went to the dealer for this same issue. Work record says they did SIB 12-21-12.

Worked for a 128 driver: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=793635
Also worked for me and I posted some details here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=847335

Doesn't seem to be anything too bad though. Good luck!

Not sure which version. I've got a 2011 335xi and I know there are new updates out there the dealer told me. I'm booked in for the upgrade so hopefully that solves it. The last told me that she had it done in her 2011 335i and it solved all her probs.

Last time I took it in asking for the newest updated because my cobb wasnt working on the current version on my car, and they lied to me saying oh yah it's up to date, we updated it and blah blah. I got home and tried installing my cobb again and it's still on the same version. So I'm taking it in to a diff place and goint say specifically update to this version but I don't no what the current version is lol.

I have the same issue. It happens more often when I have the AC on. I'm going in for a PPK install this weekend so I will see if they can find the cause and fix it.

I've got this too on my '11 335i. Only does it when almost cold. If the car sits for more than 6 hours, it starts fine. If it sits 3-5 hours it will oscillate the idle when I start it.

Literally a perfect description. That's exactly my issue as well. If I leave work for lunch (around 5 hours after I shut it off) it'll happen. But no other time

It is normal for it doing it a little when cold. What you see is too much though.

For me a bottle of Techron fixed it (so dirty injectors or carbon buildup in cylinders). Bad coils or bad battery may also provoke this.

mine did this. I mentioned it to the dealer and the the culprit was the the low pressure fuel sensor. car starts and idles better than before now..
