Faulty Injector?

View post on imgur.com

How many plugs would you say here have faulty injectors? I'm told the one all the way to the right looks like a faulty injector and wanna make sure... If so, where can I order an OEM injector for a good price? It's going to cost me $200 to get it coded and swapped by MNC Performance..

Thanks!

Also, will I notice a difference after the injector is swapped (car not throwing code)

If I had to guess it would be the furthest on the right. Did they smell like gasoline? I just had all 6 injectors replaced and before all my plugs looked black and reaked of gas. Check in the for sale section for a injector the dealer will be alot more expensive.

Of note, if your injectors are still original, you can't just replace one with a new part. BMW issued a new "improved" part that is incompatible with the old one, so if you replace one, you have to replace all 6. And they're $100 more than the outgoing part. Eh.

On a side note, I do have a few USED old part number injectors sitting around for when I have more issues. I may be persuaded to part with one if you're interested.

Definitely interested but, can't you run the new injectors in banks 4,5,6 or just swap 1 old one? I only had 1 bad injector (cylinder 6) came out very black/sticky.

I don't wanna put all the money into new injectors right now, I'd rather just purchase an old one and upgrade all 6 when I can....

How much do 6 new injectors run for? Can I get away with just swapping cylinder 6's injector? I have no problems or codes currently starting.

There have been several threads here since the new part number introduction; BMW says you cannot just replace one. I'm not sure if anyone has tried it though.

IIRC, a new injector is around $240, each, and you have to buy ALL 6. And get them coded just like the old ones. However, hopefully you can find someone in your area to do it for free. I picked up the cable for $100, and after a few hours of setup I coded my own. Twice now (got my money's worth!).

PM me if you're interested in a used one and we can work something out.

I can code them, I have the DIY guide and INPA cable, not worth paying $1200 to get the injectors coded on top of how expensive they are already...

Sent you a PM.

There was a new bulletin issued by BMW that you can now install injectors by banks if replacing with the new ones as long as each bank has the same type injectors in it. So the most you will have to by are three injectors of the new type.

This is true, my car had the injector recall done in summer of 2011, they swapped out 3 injectors on bank one (bank two is all original still).

Yeah, that might not work then. Not sure if these are correct, but injectors at 94.99 or 116.79 seems low on price.
