Been noticing when I drive on a certain stretch of freeway (I-280 near the Mariposa exit), that my F30 with M Sport suspension has been really "bouncy". The road has a smooth wavy pattern (shallow dips). My previous car, Infiniti G37S, would be slightly bouncy there as well but would smooth out above a certain speed.

Want to figure out if upgrading to the M Performance Suspension would fix that. The G37 had the optional sport package with stiffer springs and it seems like the Infiniti was stiffer than the BMW. Not exactly sure.

I feel you, I drive on the same route, my M sport is also pretty bouncy. Can't vouche for the M perf suspension though :/

Yeah, it's really strange. I think it might have something to do with the springs based on this thread: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...=766249&page=4

Looks like shivaswrath initially got the M sport springs with the M performance suspension and he mentioned the bouciness as well. I didn't read through the whole thread but I'm guessing he eventually got the proper M performance springs?

Yes. Every time I drive precisely in that location, it's bouncy as well. Regardless of what kind of car I'm in.

Did you think for a second that it just might be the road?

Still not willing to spend $2000 on parts and $1000+ on labor. At that point, I couldv'e gotten a base M3

Know it's not just the road because the Infiniti G37S was smooth over that portion of the road. Only felt the bounciness if I was going below 65.

Overall, I think the F30 springs are slightly less stiff but rebound much more.

Agreed! I have a lease too so it's not very cost effective for me as well. Especially because it seems to be a big process to install. Maybe next time I'll have it port-installed and have it rolled into the lease.

M performance suspension definitely improved it for me. I came from the standard suspension though. There are a couple of spots where I used to notice quite a lot of bounce, after upgrading its gone and the car handles these spots pretty well. In general it feels more planted.

Thanks for the feedback! Also found out that my F30 AH3 w/o DHP, despite having the M Sport package, doesn't come with the M Sport suspension... Looks like both the DHP & the M Performance Suspension fixes the bounciness.
