Someone hit my 335is
well as the title says, someone hit my car today just after leaving the dealership for having a tires replaced under warranty. but none the less the damage was terrible but it is more than i would ever want. i live in atlanta and have gotten some recommendations on good body shops but feel free to weigh in. another concern of mine is that i have heard they dont make the style 313's anymore, so what would happen if they cant find a replacement for the wheel? i have ordered a new set of VMR's but i was still going to take the 313's and put them on my e46... tell me what yall think

That wheel looks like it has very minor cosmetic damage that can be repaired easily by a professional. Keep those wheels or put them on your other car, E46 or whatever. They will look and be like brand new after the repair. The body damage isn't something I can comment on, but also might be able to be repaired by a professional body shop.

I hate people who do that... call me crazy but anytime i feel unsafe about my car or if i feel that someone beside me (based on how they have parked their car) might hit mine, i take down the car model and license plate. Knock on wood nothing has ever happened like yours!
Your body damage looks fairly minor. Most likely in the 2000-3000$ range (including labor). Like the poster above mentioned, don't get rid of those rims. They are pretty nice! |

No I was driving it at the time and he was pulling out and not paying attention and I swerved to avoid him hitting me and it still happened. It would have been a lot worse if I just stayed moving straight. I plan to keep the wheels I just want it back to normal or replaced...

Man I hate oblivious motorists. 2-3K seems rather high for a repair like that, but maybe I'm missing something. The guy I use would probably bang it out for just under a grand or maybe a wee bit over. Shop around man.

Your 313 style wheel hold onto for deer life. You can get those repaired. The offset of those rims allow a 275 or 285/30/19 size tire in the rear without rub.

Wow, I feel for you. I had my car also hit in the same area; mine was a hit and run, I chased him down but he didn't have insurance. Anyways, mine cost my insurance $9700, they replaced the door, (don't let them bang it out) the quarter panel, and a tire. I took it to a certified BMW Collision Center which did a pretty good job however, I had to take it back four time to have the paint blended in with the front fender; the front fender being plastic had a static charge from their prep work that just did not look right with the metallic. My recommendation is to use a Certified Collision Center that will guarantee their work (be diligent because its your car). Don't worry, you'll be on the road soon.

So I have decided to invest in one of these, http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/pr...ery=hd+car+cam It records video overnight so I can identify the next douche that backs into my car or decides to steal my rearview mirror glass. My brother has one and speaks highly of it. |

Awh man that's heartbreaking I'd probably cry if I saw that happen to my car. Good luck getting it repaired, shouldn't be too much of a headache though.

The dealer can have their wheel specialist repair your rim. I had a similar nick on one of my wheels do to a curb and the dealer had it repaired to show room condition. Thankfully, I have zxylon wheel/ ding insurance
