20" winter wheels

Hi Guys just buying a set of winter wheels, the fronts are 8.5/20 ET 15
Rears 10/20 ET 20.
Will these rub, I am told they will be fine.
Tyres going on are Michelin Winter Pilot Alpine PA4's 255/35/20 front
275/35/20 rears.

I have the Michelin PA4. Used it for 1 winter thus far (coming to the 2nd year), the wear after 1 year is about 1/3 worn already, I can see this can be used for 1 more winter and that's about it due to the very soft rubber compound. The culprit could also be due to the my aggressive driving style (in dry but non icy condition).

The traction in snow is pretty good, combined with the M's active differential which makes a bit of a difference in gaining traction.

19" non stock wheels are hard to find due to caliper clearance issue. I went thru this bs last year, along with another blogger and in the end, have to buy stock 19" M5 spec wheels.

Perhaps, the story for the 19" aftermarket wheels search have changed. Just be careful that you don't want to be stuck with $3000+ 'coffee table'

It's the offset I am concerned with, the wheels look great and 20" winters are the way to go for me anyway.
Anyone got an answer?.

Stock for 343M is

Front: 20x9 ET34
Rear: 20x10 ET34

You can play around the offset & width of aftermarket using the base as reference

You want answers? YOU WANT ANSWERS?!

LOL

name that flick?

Anyway, here are the OEM 20" wheel offsets. You can decide for yourself if your aftermarket 20s will be ok.

20x9 ET 34 Front 265/35/20

20x10 ET 34 Rear 295/30/20

Just saw this has already been stated above:

The ET 15 on your front seems like it would cause problems. The wheel will stick out a bit. You should look for a wheel with an offset of 34-22 range for the front and 34-24 for the rear.

Out of interest why are you not considering the BMW 19" winter wheel and tyre pack?

Cheers

I like the looks of the 20" wheels, they are easier to keep clean and the 20" tyres are cheaper.
The best winter tyres now are the Michelin's, and they come in the right sizes for the M5.

So you are keeping with the stock BMW 20" alloys and just switching the tyres?

Here are the tyres I have on test: they surpass Pirelli by a mile.

I am tempted to just switch the tyres and keep them on the standard 20" alloys as I love the standard alloys.

Post pics as soon as you test mount them to show the offsets.
