Heated seat question

On the F30, are you able to select what part of the seat you want heated?

For example, just putting the heat on your back, instead of the entire seat?

Thanks

No, it is the whole seat, but you can select three intensities of heating. It is my impression that most of the heat is in the "seat" initially compared to the "back"

Apparently, you can select seat or back in the 7 series (maybe 5 series too). Makes me wonder whether you can code that into the 3 series?

Nope...no way to do that. The switch allows 3 heat-level settings; there's no "coding" that will change that. 5-series and above have lots of things that you can't get in the 3-series, like the multi-contour seats with power everything (including headrests).
