335I Will Be A Turbo!!! Found out from dealer in S.A showed me proof!
Was at the dealer and he made no secret about it although I was asked to keep my mouth. Was told that BMW has a score to settle with Mercedes and the compressor/super charged engines they make.
It will be limited to certain models through out the whole range from 1-7. I think it will kill the current E46 M3!!! I couln't keep my mouth had to tell you. Last edited by 3some; 12-03-2005 at 09:08 AM.. |

Maybe in SA, but I fear that may not bode well for its release in the NA market if the fuel requirements are not ready. Personally I would LOVE a turbo 335.
What materials did he show you, or was this just word of mouth? Great news regardless. |

Oh and by the way I will not release the dealers name due to the fact that they trusted me and I will not stabb them in the back. Enough said.
Lets wait and see, not that long anymore! :rocks: :rocks: :rocks: |

What a great time we live in. I am so pumped about BMWs future, what with 335turbos and diesels on the near future horizon for the NA market. Combination of awesome power and efficiency.

Stressdoc if you can get your hands on a 335 Turbo you will definately have alot, less stress, Just Pleasure!!! Or you will have less patients. Sorry but I cant afford one right now. I paid $47 800-00 for a 320 M-Sport in South Africa. Anyways who knows allot can happen between now and then. I wonder what it is going to cost here in S.A.

That was on page 15, but as a customer I was not allowed that juicy bit of information.
That sucks. It was a thick booklet containing new engine release info or something. I even offered a bribe but he didn't want to show me, I guess that is loyalty to BMW if you ask me. He likes his job so much!!! Maybe I wouldn't too if I sold BMW's. So in short I dont know when. Sorry guys! |

thanks for the info. Others have said that turbo could be made available in other areas, but they also remain adamant that it's not coming to the US.
I think it's pretty obvious that BMW is going to release different versions for the different markets. The US market is pretty different from others. |

I wish BMW AG would pander to the NA market, and release M-sport, diesels, turbo, etc. If we are so significant, then why do we seem to get the fewest options?

Personally, I hope BMW does not go the FI route... As they say, there is no replacement for displacement.
Now, I am not experienced with FI, but arent these usually done on lower revving engines? |

I hate to sound skeptical, but one dealer guy making a comment, albeit a seemingly "top secret" one, makes me question whether he was simply trying to win over the trust of a potential customer by impressing him with fabricated juicy info (because inquiring minds want to know) or if he really did actually know something truthful.
The fact that he released info like this to a consumer makes me question his integrity, which discredits him as a reliable source in my book. |
