UK owners with electric seats

If you have electric seats they can be set to go back to position on unlock.

I had that on my last model but not this one.

Basically, if my wife had been driving the car last and had not put the seat back to my position, when I unlock and open the door using my key fob, the seat will automatically go back to my position.

This was not given to the dealers as an option due to various restrictions in different countries.

My car has been the guinea pig in Aberdeen to set this.

They have to restore all the settings back to the factory ones and set it from there!!! It cost me £45 but only because I complained that it should have been done at the factory.

John Clark BMW in Aberdeen are now offering this service for £75.

In my opinion, no point in having electric seats if they do not do this!! Especially as my last model had it - no point in going down...only up for me!!

So, ask your dealer about it. If he knows nothing, tell him to contact John Clark on (01224) 335577.

My car changes seat postion with different keys. This can be set to work via the thumb-control on the left-stalk and through display between the revs/speedo or via iDrive.

My car was made after September. If your car is older you may have older software. I'm not sure if a software upragde will fix it?

I do not have idrive on my car.

And, I picked my car up in May.

They managed to get it done. However, it did involve defaulting all the settings back to the factory settings.

All good fun!
