Corrosion warranty change recently?

When I first bought this car warranty used to be 10yrs/100k now I checked bmw website and it says 12yr/unlimited miles for 2006 and up vehicles.

Pretty sweet considering underside of my hood is rusting a little right by the lip. sigh.

It's a rust/corrosion perforation warranty so surface rust and bubbling paint isn't covered. To quote BMW, "Perforation” means the rust or corrosion of any components of the automobile body through from the inner surface to the outer surface." Surface rust is only be covered during the new car warranty period.

While this is what the book says, I've found that bubbling will still be covered. I know of hood replacements, door seams being cleaned out and repaired.... The cars I know of were E39/E46 era (6 year rust warranty at the time I think).
