Any radar detector that will work smoothly with blind-spot detection

As title says, i am looking to buy a radar detector that will work smoothly with blind-spot detection...

I believe there are ways to set up V1 but then you end up losing some protection...

Idk if this info will help but I live in North NJ and dont really know which bands are being used by cops...

Thanks.

We also have the active cruise control. I would have thought that the laser for it would mess with the v1 but it did not. BMW may use a diff type I guess.

The Escort and Bel lines of detectors are compatible with the blind spot monitors.

I own both the Solo (for my S4) and a 9500ix (for my M5). The 9500ix was recently supplanted at the top of their windshield mounted detector line by the Escort Max.

I've been using Escort Redline, I hardly have any false positives with it - but my area mostly uses Ka band. It's also completely worthless vs laser, but that's expected without a blinder.

I called Escort today and they said the Max radar will also false against the BSD on the M5. I have a 2013 M5 and also looking for something that will work with BSD. On these boards the only one that seems immune is the Bel Stir+.

I also live in NJ same as the original poster of this thread. We can't leave off K band on the valentine as police use K and K POP here still. Valentine said only solution is to turn off K POP but admit that it will leave one exposed here since it is used by law enforcement.

Might have to check the Bel Stir+

I'm running the Max and my BSD is not messing with it at all. It did however set off my V1 unless you turned on TMF.

From personal experience, I have had the Passport Max for the past 2 months which I use at least 3x a week in the M5 and have not experienced it messing with the M5's Blind Spot Detection system. Where did the OP get such info or data?

Just pull the fuse on the BSD. Problem solved.

Every radar detector is affected. Just because it doesn't go off doesn't mean it's not affected.

If you are familiar with the concept of signal to noise ratio, the BSM increases noise. By having to filter that noise, a radar detector is less likely to pick up weak K band signals. So even if it doesn't go off, doesn't mean the performance isn't compromised.

The only solution is to get the most powerful antenna on the market. And that is the STIR+.

I'd pull the fuse if there was one single fuse to pull. Nobody on the board here has indicated such a fuse exists to pull. I've spoken with 2 dealers and their lead mechanics who told me there is no fuse or wire harness they can pull or disconnect to shut off BSD. Do you know if this is actually true?

I contacted Escort directly today and they told me the Max would have the same problem with the K band as my valentine and false alarm. The other poster above noted that maybe it is not false alarming as you noted but the signal to noise is changed thus compromising the K band sensitivity which makes sense.

The Stir+ might be the only one on the market to deal with this unless somebody can definitely explain how to yank a fuse to kill BSD power without killing other important functions or how to disconnect wiring safely.

If the unit supports it and if K band isn't used by cops in your area, why not turn it off in the RD?

I had BSD on my Audi S4 and there was a dedicated fuse for the radar units so it was a simple enough process. I don't have it on my M5 so haven't been concerned enough to check into it but surely there is a dedicated fuse for this?

Perfectly good solution for people who live in states where K is not used. However for myself and the thread starter this doesn't work (we are both in NJ where it is still used quite a bit)
