Post My black e92 progress thread, updates on each page!!!

Hi guys I'm new to the forum as I have just purchased my e92 325I msport after owning a Nissan 350z and I'm just looking for some advice on a few things.

1. I'm wanting to change my yellow Angel eye bulbs to maybe hid or led. I have been looking into this a lot and found all different types of kits the best led ones are looking like it is the Cree led kits but looking at pics a 55w hid 6000k canbus Kit is a lot more brighter still. Am I correct what would you guys suggest?

2. Is there any way if getting the 330I performance out of my 325I engine with a remap or something as I have heard its the same engine. If not is there any mods I could do for a little more grunt?
Iv seen you can use the 330I inlet manifold and the bits attached to it.. Would that do the trick after a remap?

3. Does anyone know of any good coders in the Essex area?

4. The passenger belt butler doesn't seem to work, any ideas?

Thanks guys.

I also thought ill upload some pics of my car.

Can't help with all your queries, but on 330i power, the only way to get close is to fit a 330i three-stage inlet manifold. This is the main difference between your engine and the 330i.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=381371

IMHO re-mapping a 325i alone is poor value for the meager increase you get.

Most of your queries have been covered before, I suggest you use the search facility.

This may help re the seat belt butler:

I'm hopefully soon to be a new owner like you, so have been in these forums.

The seat butler issue may be that the belt is curved, there is a post on here somewhere about using an iron or hair straightener to flatten it out again.

Re the pics, have you got yourself an auto? Pics show a steering with flappy paddles, but they were not standard in the 325, unless your seller has done a mod (appreciate those were not your car, so yours may not have them). To me that is the first mod I would do if you don't have them.

Lastly look forward to seeing your actual car, get some pics up!

I think you can have the paddles as an extra from bmw as my friends 325I also has them but yes I have the paddles and they work great :-).

With the belt butler the arm doesn't come out at all on the passenger side which is a shame because that would really impress my passenger's lol.

My one will be up soon just having my bumper sprayed due to stone chips.

Thanks guys for the comments I absolutely love the car, I'll be honest I was never interested In the bmw until I had a 2011 e93 convertible msport as a courtesy car and then I just fell in love with them and had to get one.

I have contacted makKen and I'm sure he will be coding my car soon, thanks guys.

UPDATE:

After being unsuccessful with a hid kit for my angel eyes I have just bought some 80w cree led bulbs. I understand these are quite new for the angel eyes and not many people have tried them yet, as they are the most powerful leds you can get for the angel eyes I will post up lots of pics once iv fit them in the week so you can all see what you think before buying them as they are fairly expensive.

They are more powerful than the mtec and the lux kits so lets see how they do.

I have also bought the 330i manifold and im booked in for a remap on Saturday so I will let you all know how it goes.

Bear in mind with the angel upgrades, its not how bright the replacement bulb is, it's the way it puts out the light into the rings....

I hope it comes out well im not going to go as heavy on this as my other cars, im trying to calm down a bit. im sure I wont disappoint with this though as I got lots of interesting ideas going through my head. thanks for the comment simmo.

ukbeemerboy I understand what you are saying as so far standard bulbs are the best at spreading the light in the angels. can only try with these and see what happens. they are 1900 luma so hoping for good things.

Post pics when they are fitted. I'd be interested to see the results!

Good selection of parts!

Is the manifold just bolt on, remap and then you've basically got a 330? Where did you source the manifold from?

BMW do a performance back box, doesn't really add anything to the power but from the videos I've seen it makes the car sound a lot better.
