Catless downpipes and warranty

Hi everyone,

I was thinking about doing the new IND shown setup with e-race and catless downpipes. I asked my friend mechanic at the dealer and he said stay away from messing with the cats, will have warranty issues.. I also heard that check engine comes on and ecu flash is necessary then ecu warranty jeopardized.. Sounds like alot of reasons to go just axle back?

Thoughts?

You could go for downpipe with high flow cats like the Supersprint ones, and pair that with e-race. Then no ECU issues.

You can do full E- Race with no Issue. If you go Catless You might have issues
(get shit from the dealer).
If you go Hi-flow cat you shouldn't have a CEL, but BMW could still have an issue with the mod..... The Magnuson Moss warranty act helps the consumer defend the parts rights (innocent until proven guilty) Voiding the warranty ONLY IF THEY CAN CONNECT THE PROBLEM TO THE PART!

Doesn't matter If its an intake or forged rods, if they can't prove its the cause then it really doesn't matter.... In that case if you don't know what your doing, its safer to not do it.

You can go with the DPs and race cats, no warranty issue, no CEL. I have it and it runs great. Only issue would be with non BMW parts obviously not covered under warranty. If you do an ECU tune then all bets are off, and BMW may not warranty any engine parts. My dealer stands behind me and supports the warranty.

If only the hi-flow cats didn't cost like they are made out of real gold
