Dinan: Anyone have updated info on when??
Does anyone have any info, be it reliable rumors or insider info on when Dinan will be putting out 328i mods?
I haven't talked to them in several months, and I'm wondering about timelines for their components. |

I just listened to vids of the E90 Dinan exhaust and I can say that if they sound similar on the F30 328 I am in, I hope they release products soon, it seems it has potential to be the best sounding exhaust on the market yet.

I called them a few weeks ago and they indicated it usually takes up to 18 months to release a new product. They are having issues with the f series bmw's because of the security and coding. The person I spoke to indicated it would probably be in the fall.

That's sounding positive. I have no intention of putting any piggyback units on my car. Using a resistor box to fool sensors is a recipe for disaster. So hoping someone like Dinan comes out with a proper flash

This is not about bashing BMS since they are a reputable company.... and they do sell their products for a very affordable price. In addition, the Dinan folks added that they were remapping the overall feel of the car to be enthusiast oriented and not just about dyno performance . |

On a local board I mentioned that I was waiting for Dinan and a guy started mocking me. When I asked him if was willing to pay for my repairs if a piggyback damaged the car, he said "no!". Hmm...funny how that works when it's not your money.
The nice thing is that with Dinan, if something goes wrong, I get my car fixed and BMW and Dinan can play the blame game behind the scenes. I don't have to front my own money, provided that I get the work done at a Dinan authorized dealer. With a piggyback, I could be on the line for the repairs if BMW picks up anything wrong. I've had Dinan on my past two BMWs, and I have been very happy with them. Yeah, you pay for it. You're paying for the quality, and you're also paying for the guarantee and warranty. If you calculate the savings if something goes wrong on a newer vehicle with a current warranty, I tend to believe that it evens out a little bit. Here's to hoping that I will be driving a Dinan3 soon!! And I'm happy to hear they're going to reprogram the whole car. That's sweet!! |

Why take the chance? Nothing against BMS, but Dinan and BMW already have a strong working relationship that benefits me as the customer. My argument isn't valid. If it's possible, it's valid. Unless I can get a 100% guarantee that everything no matter what will be covered, I'm taking the safe route. I've been a Dinan customer in the past with previous BMWs, and never had an issue. I have confidence in the brand. Dinan and BMS are two entirely different companies with different goals. I think that it's an apples vs oranges comparison.
