Don't give your N54 cheap gas...

I filled up a couple of days ago with Sheetz gas because I was out of town and didn't have a choice, I was on E and no other gas stations around. 93 octane (supposedly) on a completely stock 335i (except for JB4) and it wouldn't hit more than 8psi boost, on map 1 or map 5... I tried WOT several times in 2nd, 3rd and 4th and boost would simply not build up because of the poor gasoline quality.

I was down about 1/3 of a tank today and went to the same gas station I usually always go to: SHELL.

About 5 minutes of driving later, I WOT and I get consistent boost around 14.5psi like it was before I filled up with crappy gas.

Don't feed your N54 cheap gas, they don't like it...

Ok so let's ask the big question everyone is dying to know- is there a real difference between all the 93 octanes out there? I'm a V-Power guy, but quite honestly, I don't really know why. It is just the one I've always used.
We have never gotten anywhere with this argument, however, someone who was in the industry has made the claim that your Costco 93 is just as good, if not better.

I saw a thread here that tested out the 93 octane gases. I believe Shell VPower was #1 and BP was the worst.

p.s. you guys still all caught up in this top tier stuff, huh? Just stone cold proof that marketing is something very real, it's a soft science, but it is a science. On the Top Tier end of it, totally successful campaign.

Would you buy Holiday gasoline? It's top tier, they paid for the license.

I've been using Edison, NJ CostCo gas 93 for most of the past 45k miles since i took ownership of my car @ 17k miles. I have never had any issue with he costco gas and even when i did my carbon blasting... they told me that at 45k miles on the motor, the carbon build up was probably the best they had seen. My car is driven about 50 miles a day 6 days a week. I give a to costco gas in my n54 FBO!
