335xi clutch slipping 50,000kms

My 335xi with 50,000kms clutch has started to slip when accelerating and the clutch feels weird at engagement point. I recently flushed my brakes and since then I have seemed to have this issue. Is this coincidence? I bought the car CPO and have only put 5000km on it with no mods.

Could air in the clutch line cause clutch slippage?
Could spilt brake fluid from reservoir get on clutch?
Is my clutch toast

Any ideas would help

Strange. I have a 335xi manual with 64,000 kms and no problems with my clutch at all.

Not air in the lines. The clutch is held against the flywheel by the tension in the pressure plate. Air in the line would cause disengagement problems.

Thanks for the reply on the air in lines. I'm good with the understanding of how a clutch works and I knew that air in the lines would not cause the issue but had to throw it out there since I read it in another post. Thanks for ruling it out for me tho.

Anyone have a clutch replaced under warranty?

My CPO had its clutch replaced under warranty (59000k) before I bought it.

Do you know what was wrong with the clutch? Was it a bad pressure plate bad flywheel or just a bad driver?

The clutch reservoir and brake reservoir are shared (the clutch portion is towards the firewall with a divider. It's possible you have air in your clutch lines. Bleed clutch to see if it gets any better.

Air in clutch line would make for bad disengagement not cause slipping. Plus clutch is still firm to push not mushy at all.

Car goes in next week for clutch replacement. They quoted me 1000 in parts and 1000 in labour. Dealer I bought it from is offering to pay 10% of the cost.

Seems like parts price is good compared to that sight and me being in Canada where everything is 20 to 30% more on average

FYI, if the clutch is slipping, it will show up in 6th gear, under hard throttle (that's when there is the most load on the clutch).

This is simple. If its slipping you need a new clutch. 2 grand is way to much, I would never do this @ a dealer. Have not replace my 328 clutch yet but got my wife's is250 done for 950 with a is-f clutch......

Shop around man! Its clutch swap. They are all very similar anyone can do them, just find a reputable place.........

Maybe because you know how to drive one and don't grind the fuck out of it. when it comes to mileage vs. clutch life everything goes out the window. Its about the driver not the clutch. I have seen people with little exp fry a clutch at 10k. That's why they say learn on a less expensive car unless you got the bills to float the bill.

$2k for a clutch job holy fuuuuuuu.

since its a CPO car, the driver before (or possibly you, I guess) likely couldnt manage the clutch or thought they always had to drag it out since its awd

Definitely not me with the driving issue. I found out after I bought the car that it was a company car before, so I'm guessing the guy didn't know how to drive.

This is not my first semi powerful AWD car, I had a tuned 2011 STI before the 335.

I priced out around town and clutch replacement were all more expensive compared to dealer, plus dealer might cover under warranty if they find some reason other than bad PREVIOUS driver.

Idd like to know where you guys can get clutches replaced for way cheaper than 2000. The garages quoted me 8 to 9 hrs labour and dealer quoted 7.4hrs.
