Houston shops

Houston peeps, if you have had experience with these two shops: Texas German Autohaus on Edloe, and Bavarian Machine Specialists, which one do you prefer?

Thanks.

I have only been to Texas German Autohaus and my experience was very good.

I got a letter in the mail saying first time customers received a discount and most 4 and 6 cylinder cars got free oil changes on the first visit.

I took my car in, and they took me into an office and talked to me about my vehicle. I told them I wanted to do an oil change and he also informed me they would do a free inspection (I'm assuming it isn't too detailed). After 10 minutes in the man's office, their shuttle took me to work (about 15 miles away!). The shuttle then picked me up after work and I got my car.

The oil change was still about $60 (not sure what 6 cylinder cars would have been free) and this was after around a $75 discount. They also give you a nice bottle of wine on your first visit. My bottle was Cline 2011 Cashmere as seen here http://www.clinecellars.com/2011ClineCashmere

I might check out Bavarian Machine Specialists at some point, as it is closer to my house. I believe their shuttle only goes 5 miles though, so not really an option for me on a work day.

My vote goes to Texas German Autohaus!

For oilchanges, i go to advantage bmw downtown and print thier oil change coupon online. I paid Around 70 in february.

I made appointment online. It was listed at like 100 and 30 off coupon.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Did TGA give you a detailed recommended maintenance schedule for your car?

Do you have a link to this coupon?

GPChamp, they did not give me one, which is a bit surprising considering it would get me in for service more often. However, I have a pretty detailed one that I use that I found on the internet.

Collins automotive. They are on the north side but really easy to work with and solid pricing. I will be going back on future issues.

Wow so that means it is only $50 with the coupon? Either way, for $50 or $80 that is a great deal. Doesn't make me think twice about changing at 7,500 vs 15,000 with pricing like that.
