[FREE] e9x Rear Fog light switch Mod - Central NJ Event
Hi All,
So last week I did a fun event of free JB4 installs, just needed to bring your car and your JB4 and we have a fun time of installing it. This Sunday (June 16th, 2013) I'm looking to do the Rear Fog light switch lego mod at my place. I have two folks already interested in this so if you are near or in Central NJ and are willing to travel out to the NJ Woodbridge Mall this Sunday... then feel free to sign up. This will be done on a First come - First serve basis (But if a bunch of people show up at the same time it will be easier to do a show and tell). I have some lego's we can use to make the button work, if I run out of legos then someone will need to make a toys r us run (about 1 mile from my place) to get more legos. If you have spare lego's at home... PLEASE BRING THEM!!! Here is the link to the directions I used to do my car last year (Has pictures and the kind of legos we need): http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95434 This is a free mod, meaning besides the cost of getting/finding the correct lego pieces... this mod does not cost anything to do nor does it require any coding. Just good old fashion time/effort/patience. The reason I'm doing this is just to have something fun to do and get more near-by e9x folks to meet up. Sign up list: 1) (Done) imflyerthanyou - DCI and Rear fog light mod 2) (Delayed - Next week) Kumar - AEs install 3) (Delayed) Parth387 - rear fog light mod 4) (Done) Vijay - rear fog light mod 5) (Done) Chilled_fire - rear fog light mod 6) (Done) BlueFrog0257 - rear fog light mod 7) 8) Last edited by fazman; 06-16-2013 at 03:05 PM.. |

That's a great idea, hope you bring together a nice group. I won't be able to join (and already fabbed something up myself), but would be interested in a little road trip if you come up with some other DIY get togethers.

I can also install tint protector, since I've done that to my car as well. AE's, headlights, JB4, etc... I'm also in the process of learning how to do the automatic transmission wire relocation fix for the pinched wires as you move between sport/normal mode on the shifter. Good for you Faz!
You are a shining example of what the BMW community is all about, and the essence of what it should be. I hope you have a pretty good turnout my friend- a little tough on a Father's Day weekend though |

Hey All, I've sent all that have signed up my cell number, so just call me before u leave home and again when u r near and i'll come get u, u can follow me back to my condo parking area.
Parking spaces might be a little limited too we will have to play it by ear. But the light switch mod doesn't require u to be near the car, just need to remove the piece. I will probably not have enough lego pieces, so if u don't bring legos from the instructions... u will need to go to the local toys r us to get the right pieces. Just make sure it has the 3 x small round single dimple pieces, The flat 3 dimple piece is very common and even if u have a 4 dimple flat piece... i can cut them into a 3 dimple flat piece to fit. worst case would be that we take apart the light switch and make all the modifications and close it back up so at a later date u already have the knowledge/experience on how to do it and just drop in the lego. Remember this should just be a fun simple modding event. My goal is not to do the mod, but to teach u how to do the mod. |

Faz,
If its not too much of trouble lets setup some time so we all could meet, would love to meet fellow e90 members Also since you are close to Woodbridge mall maybe we could meet up at malls parking lot, next to or behind Dicks sporting, its usually empty there ...what say ? Avi. |

Lego parts needed:
3 x Round brick (any color): http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=4211412 or 3 x Plate (any color) will build the equivalent of one round brick above: http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=4633691 1 x plate (Any color): http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=4211133 I have plenty of flat plates at home that I can cut into a 3 dimple flat plate so I'm not worried about that piece... it's the round brick which is harder to come by. - Faz |
