How to remove/install e92 headlight washer covers?

I did a search, and all I could find was:

Option1: "you get a rivet remover or some other tool and hold the washer nozzle outwards with force and clip on the springs again and let go"

Option2: "Activate the headlight washers so they come out and spray. Before they return in on the last spray grab the arm to stop it. The only force you're applying is against a return spring so it doesn't harm the mechanism. While holding the arm with one hand simply push the two springs downwards with the other. Now the cover is off. Let go of arm, which will then retract back. This way puts no tension on the springs whatsoever."

So basically, either way you are pulling on the nozzle against it's will to hold it out in the open long enough to clip the covers on.

Just want to double check and make sure it doesn't damage anything.

i dont remember but when i did mine it was the same idea, once u pull it out there are tabs on each side that u need to pop open. the harder part is keeping the washer out, since it wants to pop back into the car.

It is recommended to slowly release the spray heads back in not to cause internal leaking. Those things are prone to leaking anyway.

I found it easier to switch the headlights on, key on, actuate the wipers, and then catch them when they come out. There's a lot of spring force on them, you won't be able to hold them out for long. If you tape up the area around the cover you can put a clamp on them w/o damaging the bumper. Less change off stretching the tiny springs on the cover too far. If that happens the covers won't sit flush anymore

I did it alone, just tied a rope around the washer lever, routed it along one headrest post, and back to the front of the car. Pull the rope with one hand, catch the thing with the other, and then put the clamp on it.
