Opinion on sport package wheel spacers
First off, this is my third thread on the topic, so sorry in advance.
2nd. Contacted Jason at BMS. He said to go with 12mm in the rear and 10 or 12 in the front. Now the response to the other threads was like 15 to 20 in the rear and 10-12 in the front. I simply want spacers that will not rub at all on a 2007 335i sedan with sport package and 162 style rims. And stock everything. I think Jason may be wrong. Can someone with the same vehicle as mine chime in? What size did you choose? DN |

Jason gave you good advice. He advised a fitment that will NEVER rub. Even under full steering lock going round a turn with passengers on a bumpy road. These forums are full of anecdotal evidence of people running this or that setup with "no rubbing". Either they drive on perfectly smooth roads, have no clue what they are talking about or are full of shit. Of a combination of the three. Keep it conservative when it comes to wheel spacers.

I run 10 up front and 20 in the rear. 2007 sport package with the stock 162 set up. I have never rubbed, even with 4 people in the car. Jason at BMS isn't wrong, he is being on the safe side. Im sure he just wants to make sure he doesn't sell you a product that will damage your vehicle, or worse. If I were you, I would buy the 20's. If you dont like them, they are an easy sell on the forums.

e90 328 with sport susp, stock staggered17's and stock bridgestone rft's(255 out back) and 18mm spacers out back WILL rub. period.
99.9% of the time they will be fine, but there is an interchange around here that has some serious mid corner heaves. hit it really, really fast and my tires rubs. period. did I mention it only rubs when I hit it really, really fast? |

15 mm in the back with 162 wheels on my 330 with sport package, 40kmiles. No issues with rubbing however, had problems with uneven tire wear. So keep that in mind, wider you go, the more it changes the geometry of the suspension, thus requiring alignment. 10s front and 15s in the back seems like a very good set up.

The 2 quotes above that do not pertain to the OP's original question, are why people have to make 3-4 threads about the same crap to get solid answers. They do not help in the least and I think people just type to type. I don't get it. I thought Lexus owners were pretentious. |

I followed his advice when I used to have the wheel spacers with my stock rims and never had any rubbing issues. Jason knows what he's talking about.
