One full year without any updates, actually more as the last one was a Beta release. Is Bavarian Technics still alive?

I'm still waiting for support for the 2010 R56 MINI Cooper. I find it strange that the R56 is supported but not the 2010+ models.

Umm I think their beta 1901 support all newer BMW and Mini cars. My 2012 Min Cooper Countryman works fine with the BT Tool

They have gotten lazy actually, cause they have no real competitor

Just imagine how much more money they would make if they let you register the cable to the person rather then the VIN? They should just offer a subscription model of like $25 a year for updates and that would offset lots of costs and investment for future updates/requests for further advancements. That's how the software/licensing market works. You have to grow it to get people to want it.

Only reason I haven't invested in BT is because they tie it to a specific vehicle, if they just tied the cable to me and let me register a new vin every year that would make it worth investing in a cable & software update subscription

I would prefer a yearly subscription fee and a fixed cost for the hardware over the current license model.

Some people just don't know good biz and how to market to make more money for the benefit of everyone involved. Just like how itunes makes money for apple and they give away free OS updates for the hardware you buy. Everyone is happy with that model. This is just a modified version of that.
