Coral Red Interior Owners Chime In

I was curious about the way the red interior has been holding up for everyone. I was looking to see if there was a drastic change over the years in the actual color. Also please add if you regularly clean the leather, leave the car in direct sunlight, or haven't done any cleaning.

thanks

Loved the Coral leather on my first 2007 E92. Enough so that I spec'd it again on the 2013. I found it easy to clean, and it stays pretty clean. It's not Black, there is going to be more obvious dye transfer etc, but it held up great. Looked good two years in also.

Besides, the ladies freaking love it. Got much more attention from coworkers and random mall drones about the red leather than anything.

It's a classic color, it ages pretty well, and peps up other wise very dry interiors.

No noticeable fade at all, used to sit in the sun (well Seattle sun so may not count) while I was at work and no issues at all.

Cleaned and treated with Zaino Z9 to clean and Z10 (leather in a bottle, wear it as cologne, the ladies really love it.)

Z9 is only half the equation, don't forget the Z10 as a follow up. Order more than one bottle as you'll find all sorts of uses for it other than just YOUR car. Your Wife/SOs car, leather furniture, leather jackets, just about anywhere. It smells amazing. It really is leather in a bottle, it's lightweight, soaks in fast, over all just good stuff.

Really helps get rid of the toxic chemical "new car smell" BMW is known for as well, and instead you actually start smelling leather.

Does the Zaino Z9/Z10 retain the matte finish? I'm just afraid a leather cleaner will make it all shiny and greasy looking.

I love the matte look to the CR interior (especially how it reflects the ambient lighting). The '09 CR interior has kept up really well, and has been since last September when I bought the car. Some minor wear on the driver side bolster.

2009, looks really good. my car is tinted (for ~10 months now) and it has held up really well. passenger seat and the rest of the car look brand new, driver's seat shows minimal wear in the seat (butt) area, thigh support and left side bolster. I have the Lexol cleaner and Lexol conditioner and I'll admit I've only used it once but it worked fantastic.

Not at all, even if you wanted it to, I don't think you'd be able to achieve the "Armor All" shine. Thank god.

It's a pretty well thought out combo and I have seriously even put on some Z10 and worn it as a cologne. It smells that good, and as psycho as it sounds I've gotten more positive comments from ladies at work or the wife about "what are you wearing" etc. after having treated the car or a leather jacket.

Then again it might just mean I wreak and anything is an improvement...

But if you follow the directions the cleaner and treatment work really well together. You clean with the Z9 then apply the Z10 with bare hands, works great and smells amazing. No shine at all, it soaks in pretty well and your hands will even thank you. Wipe down gently with a cotton towel and you're GTG.

Also, the wear on the drivers bolster is unavoidable without extreme measures, or being really skinny. Make a concerted effort to not touch it getting in and out and it becomes second nature, but it's not easy.

Ha. If you're right, then this could be a new trend for E90 posters... *sniff *sniff... "Hey, do you post on the E90 forums?!"

I don't consider myself large, or skinny (175 lb at 5' 11"). I have a greater tendency to do it if I can't open my door past the first snap location. I found sliding the seat all the way back certainly aides in exiting without having to rely on the bolster.

How have some gone about touching up little wear patterns on the CR Dakota?
