Leavin e90post.com *looking for e60 530d*

I have read this forum pretty much every day last 1.5 years and I have got much help for my projects but now its time to move on. I Just sold my Bmw e90 320d and now im trying to find Bmw e60 530d 2004-2006.

I test-drove one couple days ago and I like it alot. Powerful engine, good handling, smooth automatic gear box etc. However that car had too many kilometers.

Now i have found 2004 530d e60 only 109 000 km, one owner and complete Bmw service book. I havenīt seen it yet but owner said that its in very good condition and very clean.
It looks like this:

colour is olivin green. It looks like gold in daytime and nighttime its beige. What do you think about the colour?

I have already thought about mods which this car needs atleast if I buy it:
- led lisence plate lights
- 35% tinted windows all around or atleast rear doors
- hid fog lights
- bimmerpost.com window decals for rear windows (ofc)
- bigger wheels, I was thinking about these oem 17" wheels because roads are here full of pottholes so i think 18" wheels wouldnīt last long.

My biggest problem with this car is that it has pre lci halogen headlights..
My e90 had halogens too and I would really like to get xenons+ bright angel eyes this time.
e60 pre lci halogens have angel eyes too but they are pretty useless, you cant see them at all in daytime. you can get them abit brighter by using some small led bulb which cost like 7-10€ but still they are not bright enough for drl. Anyone knows if you can see those angel eyes when its cloudy/dusk or are they visible only at the night time?
I could maybe get orion v4 angel eyes installed but that is expensive option.

So what do you think about? all opinions and advices are welcome?

I like the color. I like colors that change tone as the light around it changes. The e60 I absolutely hate though. E39 & F10 are so much better looking imo. Good luck on the new car buddy.

You don't need to leave the forum, I have never had e90 but still like this forum. I too have e60. Many things are common but yeah you have to be careful as many things will be different also.

I have not had my 335i since 2008 and I still find this forum entertaining. I am active on an Audi forum and it is interesting to keep up with folks from two friendly competing brands.

Thats a nice color but I hate those wheels. I used to have a E60 LCI and it was a great car, I miss it from time to time.

I don't know what BMW was thinking with those bottle cap wheels, luckily they realized and got rid of those wheels after a year. Get the OEM 17s!

Having owned my e60 for almost 4 years now, I would say if your are looking for e60 look for these things:

LCI (post 03/2007)
M Sports
Electric seat and mirrors
Xenons
Bluetooth

Desirable :
LCI (post late 2008 out early 09 model) then you get CIC nav from factory
Active Cruise Control (ACC 2)
Logic 7
18"-19" wheels
SAT 2TB transmission
Ipod and usb connectivity (mulf)

That's all I can remember, of course your can retrofit any of all of these but getting it from factory will avoid the hassle.

I am not going to leave e90-post totally because it's still fun to read about other peoples projects etc. But I am going to sign in 5-series forums so I can get help considering e60.

I Don't like those 16" wheels at all. I have to get atleast 17". I was thinking about 18" but you can't use XXX/45/18 Tires with them, right? Only XXX/40/18?

What about normal hifi soundsystem in e60? Is it better than e90 hifi?

Agreed! No need to leave. I am over on 5Series.net as I own an E60, but frequent this site regulary. I love this site!

I don't think E60's are ugly.

I never liked the E60's tail lights but my god the M5 is wickedly sick. I'd rather choose one of those than the current gen's body style.

Ok. so now I have seen that olivin green car and it was a big disappointment
there were Scratches everywhere and the interior was in very bad condition.

Now I have found another candidate: 2004 orient blue e60 530d

What do you think about the colour? hard to keep clean?

This car has for example:
-Black leather seats (good condition + electric adjustment)
-Xenons
-Bmw Business RDS Cd-player
-cruise control
-tinted rear windows

What does that Bmw business RDS cd-player mean? better sound quality than normal?
Does it have some kinda of cd-changer? or only one cd-slot?

I always assumed the business model stuff was worse, as consumers seem to get professional.
