Tint % in Vancouver?
I'm getting my windows tinted next tuesday. I really like 35% all around, but am worried about the chances of being pulled over. 50% looks good for cars with black interior, but my car has Jade Grey interior, so I'm thinking maybe 35% won't look that dark. What are your thoughts? I'm going with F1 Pinnacle btw...

i think 35% all around is definitely nice and will give you more privacy...
in terms of being pulled over, i wont worry too much unless ur car is heavilly modded and u live in Richmond.... other than tat, the Police r not too anal... and if u get pulled over for something else (e.g. Speeding) & they ask about ur tint, just say "Sorry" it worked for me the past 5+ yrs |

i got 35% all around...BUT....i got pulled over twice for front tint though...
35 looks really good..but at night times its hard to see from outside..so the chance of being pulled over increases by the way...i do live in richmond..maybe thats why? lol...the sorry worked for me too for the past two times...sorry and i am not too familiar with the regulation but i will remove it is what i said and worked

The BC law allows no tint on front side windows and anything on the rear side windows and the rear window. 7.5cm tint brow allowed on the front window.

I know 35% looks best, but it looks pretty dark at night. Maybe I'll just go with 50% front 35% rear. Do you guys think it'll look even worse than %50 all around?

well, I've got 50 front, 40 rear passenger, 30 rear...
SO it's really up to you.. I think you can do 40 front and 30 rear (3) that will probably won't get you any tickets I've gotten pull over for speeding, but never got tickets for tints.... Just make sure you roll your windows down before the cops walk to your car, if and when you get pulled over.

I'm having the same dilemma. I like the clean look of the same % all around, but I even have experiences with 50% all around on an slk, had to remove them ><

I have 35% all round looks good, but it is dark at night. No problems with being pulled over, but then I have only had the car for a week. I'll cross my fingers.

35% seems to be what I'm going to go with, as long as you roll down the windows when pulled over it should be fine.
But if you are pulled over for some other reason eg. speeding, and they notice your windows are tinted, they will slap on extra $$.! One thing you can do is, always have your sun roof cover retracted, so you get more light in your cabin during the day, that seemed to help. |
