Riddle me this!

Why is it that Edmund's.com and Road & Track have 0-60 figs for the 335i coupe at 4.8 sec and other publications have it it 5.3 - 5.4. I can't figure it out. Did the first 2 have mods? Also, does anyone know if you can purchase a meter that will measure acceleration. I don't doubt this is a repost. I had trouble finding the exact topic.

I will be taking delivery of my new 335i coupe in about 5 days. It is difficult to concentrate on much else. I'm a Doctor. Between patients I hit the boards to keep this waiting period tolerable.

The magazines like R&T and Car and Driver always show faster times than the Manufacturer or other mags because the faster times are based on launching the car, not just slamming the gas.

BTW, would NOT SUGGEST testing this theory until you have 1000 miles on your car

I plan on breaking the car in according BMW recommendations. What do you mean when you say "launching the car". Is that from a standstill, clutch down and RPMs at 3500 or so?

In the same respect of "if you have to ask the price, you cant afford it", if you have to ask what it is, you shouldnt be doing it.

Pretty much a good Launch is something that you do not want to do all day, it's hard on parts.

Also, you'll need to completely disable the DSC by pressing and holding the button for 5 seconds before attempting a decent launch. Otherwise, you just get denied as traction control kills the party way too early. The wait is worth it.

There are many reasons for different times. Here is an incomplete list:

Launch technique
Driver skills
Outside temperature
Proper measurement
Natural variation between individual cars of the same model
Fuel
etc, etc, etc

Even with "proper" measurement, it is hard to create perfect test conditions since you need to conduct multiple runs in opposite directions in a short time period with no significant wind or temperature changes.

Just use the same instrument you use to measure your patient's heart rate...

When you are with a beautiful woman, you do not need to know how beautiful she is compared to other women. You need only know how she makes you feel.
