I'm waiting for the new M3 - as soon as it drops in price (markup) I'm selling my baby and getting the M3.

I think I fall into the forever category. I kept my Nissan which is a daily driver, the 335 is on target for around 5k per year, though I plan on driving it more next year hopefully. I plan on treating my cars like a business would, even once they're fully depreciated they keep driving them and repairing them. A business would not knowingly replace things just because, and that's the way I look at it. By the time I even consider a new luxury car, the BMW will be worth so little that I'd rather keep it than trade it in for say 10 grand.

The other factor I think is being younger folks on this forum, it's really quite unpredictable. Who knows what our priorities will be 5-10 years from now? I should think upgrading the house would be a major one, I'm hoping to do so when things get a little worse next year for the sellers (yes, me too, but I'm upgrading so my pain is less).

I never keep a car longer than 2 years.

So, with that said I think I am keeping this one for another 20 months or so.

I'll keep it until the next 3 series comes out in 4 or 5 years. Its a good feeling not having a car payment to worry about every month.

Keep it for a while definitely. Next big purchase will be a home or town house before another nice car.

35 Months, 1 week, 5 days.....

.....6 hours. In the meantime I'm going to drive it every day with that in mind. After that I'm going to return like a library book and check out my next car for 36 months.... BMW meets Netflix.

Brilliant.

Kind of makes you wonder about buying a 3YO CPO vehicle though doesn't it?

Can you imagine there are some who belive that a car (lease) payment is just something that one will have indefinitely? It's like looking at two stocks, one that is flat for 12 years, and RIMM. Over time, the gap is so wide that it is something that can never be overcome. I doubt anyone looks at housing that way. Most people I know start out with a 30 yr. mortgage and work like SOB's to make sure they go to a 15 yr. mortgage next. Nobody intends on paying all that interest over 30 years. Wow, it's mind boggling thinking a person would have leased 10 cars over 30 years, what a total waste of money.
