Another E92 328i and Another Dual exhaust job

Here is all the pictures and info I have on this build.
I have a pre dyno with the BMS power box and I made 197hp 190ft lbs of tq
pre duals.

This dyno print out below is the "Pre-exhaust" dyno where I had the BMX power box on and then I turned it off, Showing that it in fact does work as well. I did this to see how much gain There will be with the new flow on the exhaust. with and without it being turned on for you guys out there that have not bought one yet.

I will add the new dyno results this week when I go back to check if I have any gains

Video of the Car Running

http://s953.photobucket.com/user/wil...pipes.mp4.html

If you live near Birmingham Alabama I had all this work done at Welch's muffler shop in Kimberly about 25 minuets north of Birmingham.
He gave me an awesome price on putting this all in.

The factory pipes are 2 1/4 from the header flange back, I went with 2.5 pipes because Bud does not do mandrel bends
so I took up the dual 2.5's to make up for some of the crush.

I bought a 335i bumper off of eBay, I got a deal for mine but they normally go for about 200-250

Exhaust tips I used, these have a 3inch inlet, you can find them with a 2.5 inlet on eBay pretty cheap

http://www.cherrybomb.com/Catalog/ti...iad4083ns.aspx

muffler I used, this muffler also has a "X" pipe built into it.

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...=main&id=10922

Every dual setup on a 328i I have seen there has been a ton of questions on the charcoal canister relocation. I spent a lot of time to show you a good place to put it.

//////////////Disclaimer/////////////
this is just the way I did it, I like it and I hope it helps someone else out that is wanting to do the same as I have.

Here is a link to my photo bucket Album, I left notes on nearly every picture but it does not look like they are all showing up on here.

Am I readin the dyno right? You lost 9HP and 9lb torque after doing this?

That is a pre exhaust dyno, I will add the new dyno when James gets back with me on a date this week to put it back on the rack.

I put this one up so when I post the other it will be a Side by side.

I gained almost 12hp and 9ft lbs of tq by just turning the BMX power box on.

I will edit the post to prevent confusion

I will when I get my bumper painted right now it looks like a car from a mad max movie, ill get a video of it on the dyno as well. You can really hear it sing then. Also on a redline shift change you get that limiter bump and it has a pretty nice sound now.

I'm setup with Henson on Thursday afternoon @ 4 on the dyno. I did a complete reset on adaptation and octane. I still feel like the bottleneck may be in the header cats but even if it is the sound makes up for the cost. Also I can feel a large pick up in the 5500-7000 range for sure.

I just got it off the dyno and I picked up 5hp and 3ft lbs across all the way across the pull. That was with the bms power box off. I reset adaptation and I don't want the piggy back messing with the reset

Ok I have a 0-70ish pull so you can hear the pipes from inside the car. this is with the windows up.

I will get a drive by video as soon as I get my newly painted bumper back.

That thing sounds almost as quiet as stock. I'm assuming no drone on highway driving. Would like to hear the drive by shot when you get it. Will you be doing a dyno with exhaust and BMS on or no?

I took the BMS off the other night since I'm going to go with a AA tune. The BMS did fine but made the car run really fat at 10.6:1 air fuel I did gain 5hp over all from my best non BMS run before the exhaust. I would guess the 5hp would transfer to the total hp that the powerbox offers.

Now there was a better consistent run on power all 4 runs where within a half hp. Ill get a drive by as soon as i get the bumper back on it. It looks like a Rolling junk yard with it off

As for drone none at all, this may be due to the magnaflow has a x pipe built into the muffler. This may keep the drone from happening.

can I ask you how much did you pay for your magnaflow muffler? and how much for the whole cost? the shop here in Sydney told me $275 only for the muffler, and for labour to put it on the car and custom made dual pipes will cost me $700..damn, that's a lot.

I paid 104 us for the muffler (eBay ) 42 for both tips (eBay) 155 for the bumper ( a steal on eBay) and 150 for the pipes to be bent and installed. Now I did cut all of the old pipes out myself and had the car prepped for him to just hang the pipes and muffler. I have right at 500 in the whole thing

Yes I cut it right in front of the secondary cats and pulled 2.5 inch exhaust all the way to the stock res location and that is where I put my muffler.

No not at all black smoke means you are running way too rich or you have a diesel

Wait is that the dyno with the dual exhaust and PBX off? if it is then you'd be getting at least 200+ HP with the PBX on with dual exhaust setup?

Most likely, I didn't run the PBX because I had just reset adaptation And I didn't want the PBX to jack with the reset. I'm about to get a AA tune here in a few weeks and get these tree hugging hippies out of my N51

I'm also running 93octane non ethanol which may be why I'm running in the 190's
