new engine for 325i coupe (greece)

Hello my friends!

Well i order a 325i coupe (from Greece) with the 2.500cc engine and after 1.5 month car dealer called me to inform me that the engine of the car has changed. The new engine is 3.000cc with 218hp.
Has anyone know anything about it. (The car dealer didn't know the specs of the new engine. I know it is IMPOSSIBLE).

Just a guess here, but it would appear BMW is no longer going to offer the 2.5 litre engine in Greece and BONUS, you're getting a higher output engine, likely for no additional charge. Good for you!!

Seemingly the N53 is 3.0 where as the n52 (the one i have) is a genuine 2.5
The US has always had 3.0s badged 2.5(215bhp) and 3.0 with what I thought was 258 same as UK but i have just seen a post that said BMW release performance kit taking the 3.0 up to the full fat 230. If thats the case you guys are being kept on a lead.

UK engines were 2.5/218 and 3.0/258
They are now 3.0 badged 2.5 still with 218 but half a second quicker
and 3.0 with 272

and its £300 ish more, but due efficient dynamics package for it, you get better MPG, urban 23.3 to 28.8 MPG and its lower co2, think was 203 to now 170g/KM, 3 litre vs 2.5 has same HP 218 but has more torque so quicker

I know that for E93 cabrio 325=3000cc and 218bhp with direct injection like 335i. But i didn't know that they have changed also the coupe 325i with 2500cc and valvetronic. Check www.bmw.de.
greetings from athens!

I think that as of 2008 they're putting the new N53 (that for Europe has already been in the E93) across the line. The 325 N53 (in the E93) is indeed 3.0 liters.

The N53 (and N43 in the 320) is Direct Injection Lean Burn. Apparently it won't be coming to the US since it's not compatible with our high sulphur fuel.

Unfortunately, Greeks are the same, no matter the country they live.
The only word they use is "malaka".
Bravo!!! We laughed for today.
