328xi Feels Slow

I picked up a 328xi as a loaner and I must say I am quite disappointed with the car. I don't expect it to be blindingly fast, but it just felt dang slow. Throttle response was terrible and when you rev it, the engine felt kinda week. I'm sure the xdrive plus automatic really slow the car down, but I thought it'd drive much better than this. My 2002 330ci feels so much more quick, nimble and willing than the 328xi. Anyone else have a similar experience or am I just dreaming?

Actually - I think the op was stating he has a 330... not a 335...

People, I am not saying 335>328 or anything like that. I have a 335 right now. I have a 330ci that I am in the process of selling.

I never expected the 328xi to perform as well as the 335xi, but I am just wondering why it feels the way it does. All of the typical BMW responses you would normally expect, feel much more "muted" in this car. The 330 feels so much more lively than the 328 even though it is 5 years older!

By the way, all three of the cars I have are automatic, so it's not comparing step to manual.

So I ain't bashing the 328. I respect the 328 (to the extent any 335 owner can of an inferior car ). Just kidding...

Holy fookers. Maybe I should rephrase it this way. Does the xdrive really make the car feel that much slower?

And I drove my 330 a couple of days before picking up the 328, so I am comparing my RWD coupe to the 328xi more than anything else.

I have a 325i and am perfectly happy with how it handles/performs. Bmw's aren't for racing anyways
