E92 and Child Seat Question / Feedback
Do any of the E92 owners out there have a child seat in the back? We are expecting soon, and I would really appreciate some feedback. We have an X3 which we will use for the day to day child travel. The E92 will be for occasional use. Thanks in advance,

I have an E92 and I occasionally use a rear facing child seat. Since I am 6'2" - it would be very uncomfortable to put it behind my seat however I have absolutely no problem mounting the child seat onto the rear passenger side. The coupe has child's seat belt mounting points and everything works fine. Getting in and out the seat isn't a problem either since the front passenger seat is already pushed forward and the doors on the coupe are long and wide. Hope that helps.

I take my 5 month old son to daycare every other day. I have a rear facing infant seat that I put behind the passanger seat. It is actually very easy to put the base in with the latch system and get the car seat in and out of the car.

front facing child seat... works fine no problems.
there are two types out there one that fits in bucket and the other that fits on flat. when your child is old enough keep an eye out for both. the flat will slide around and wont work right. ppp

Congratulations on the pending arrival! I can't comment on the E92, just that I'm sure your back will not be happy if you have to get a rear-facing seat in and out of a coupe with any frequency, but you gotta do what you gotta do and I'm sure you'll be fine. Mostly, I am posting because I am happy to see another DC-area E9x-er who will have a baby seat in his car.

I have a forward-facing seat in the E92, and it works great. The power slide on the front passenger seat allows easy access, and you can seat with some degree of comfort on the middle front armrest to do all the buckling-in tasks. We specifically looked at the rear-facing fitment, and there's definitely more room in the coupe's rear for the seat in a rear-facing position than the VW Beetle I had before. It would depend on if you needed to carry a 6-ft+ passenger and 6ft+ driver, along with a rear-facing seat. That might be the only non-acheivable configuration.

I am pretty much in the same situation, he is usually in my wifes car. But on occasion we will take my car and the car seat fits just fine (Recaro COMO) and it is a pretty big seat:

Ditto. Kids love to go in "Daddy's" car and groan when they have to go in the dreaded minivan. It's amazing how smart kids are.

I love that Recaro Como!!! I am a major Recaro fan. My 4 year old uses a Recaro Young Sport and the 8 year old uses a Recaro Start booster. We also own a Britax Marathon which is in the wife's car. My e92 is our primary kid schlepper (over the X3 my wife drives...go figure). We did a 3 week ED with the kids in the back and it was fine.
For the rear facing seat take the car and test fit different models. You will be served best by one that does not require the handle to be locked forward to install (if such seat exists). Mainly test for width as the seat bottom cushion is not flat. However, the Recaro is a wide seat and it fits ok, so you shouldn't have a problem.

adrock, your kid's belts look pretty loose there.
To the OP, make sure you go to the police station or call for an appt to have them show you how to properly install a seat. Something like 95% of car seats are not installed properly. It's a LOT more work than you'd think. It's easier with LATCH, but still a pain. |

I have a front facing Britax for the 3 yr old behind the driver's seat, and a graco snugride infant car seat for the 6 month old. The Britax is fine behind the driver's seat. The graco requires that passenger front seat to be moved forward quite a bit. Since the front passenger seat is rarely used, it isn't a big deal.

sorry, to resurrect this thread, but I have a e92 (coupe) and tired to fit a Britax Marathon in the back seat. It doesn't fit as well because the carseat is not flush with the backseat. It has to do with the way the carseat and the backseats of the coupe are angled with respect to each other.
How do the recaro's fit in there? is it flush? |

I have an E92 (and a Tahoe) and three kids. The rear seat of the E92 is very accessible and roomy for a coupe. My kids love riding in the back. That said, I think booster seats (generally >3 years old) are very easy and doable in the E92, while child seats (<3 years old) are a pain in that car.

Anyone tried Maxi-Cosi Mico? Fits?
I'm thinking of getting it as a rear-facing infant seat |
