Question Doors fly open, slam shut...

OK, I know I'm not the only one who's complained about this. The doors on my car seem to swing open way too easily and slam shut just as effortlessly. Over the past couple of days people getting in and out of my car have flung them open and slammed them shut so hard my ears popped a couple of times.

I know it's not them; the door just fly in either direction with very little effort. Is there anything I can do to the hinges or anything else to make them a bit more controllable?

TIA

it happens to me too, my friends make it seem llike they are slamming the door, but in reality they aren't. I think its best just to tell them to go easy. I haven't found a good way to fix it tho.

Friends SLAM our BMW doors because they have developed door-slam-syndrome from owning American products.

Show me a Mustang or Camaro and I'll show you a door that needs to be slammed within 6 months of the car being new....

This happens with the coupe. The sedans don't have the problem, unless the hinge is broken.

I can't seem to find anything on how to make the doors stop from flying around!

I miss my e46, it took effort if you wanted to slam or swing the doors and they felt like a vault was being closed. These new doors feel more like a Japanese car and less like a German one.

Well I know that especially int he coupes, the doors are pretty damn heavy. So, folks used to heavy doors on American trucks and such aren't used to how easy they move.

I just tell people to "please do not slam the doors." Cause it's easy to do.

I think it's not the door. My friends here never slam my door but they touch the window so their finger prints are all over the place... That's WTF, too

The "slams" are worse when the windows are down.

I solved the problem. I have a paper they must read and sign before riding in the car.
1. open door with door handle only
2. lift your feet when getting in or out to not scrap the door sill
3. out of the car closing the door only use your palm. No finger prints.

They sign it and off we go.
