Colors - Unique to 3GT?

Out of sheer broedom and interest in any tidbits I could glean, I was reading the press release on the 3 GT from BMWNA's website the other day.

I ran across something that I haven't seen anywhere else to-date.

Quote:
Exterior colors and wheels: The spectrum of colors available for the new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo takes its cues from the BMW 3 Series Sedan and ranges from elegant and classic to modern and expressive. Customers can choose from a total of 12 paint finishes, irrespective of the equipment line specified, including intense color shades, an array of metallic options and a broad spread of classic tones. The Kalahari Beige metallic, Midnight Blue metallic and Sparkling Brown metallic shades are reserved exclusively for the new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo.
The part highlighted in red was particularly interesting to me. I hadn't heard anything about these colors being unique to the GT. Anyone have an idea where we might snag some photos for interest's sake?

You can configure one on the British or Belgium sites. The Belgium site is better for viewing the car from different angles.

Interestingly enough those colors were the least popular as indicated from pre-owned/CPO listings.

I would have gone Kalahari Beige myself, I didn't because there weren't any available near me. Dealers order their cars based on what they feel are safe colors, ie., black, white, or any one of the dozen shades of gray that BMW loves so much. Those are the colors I wouldn't go for. I ended up finding one in Midnight Blue.

Passed on a Estrolli for a MBM too. Just curious if there’s was any truth behind the exclusiveness of the MBM colorway.

They (unfortunately, cause I really like it) cancelled at least Kalahari Beige for the F34 with MY2020 (in Germany, I should add, maybe it is still available in other markets).

Midnight Blue Metallic is much darker than Estoril Blue, I don't think it'd be easy to confuse them.

Oh yea was mixing them up. Saying I decide not to buy the estrolli and went with the midnight.

Always been a huge fan of brown metallic cars. Kalahari beige is a little to light on the spectrum for me. But that new Smokey Topaz is sweet.

Actually, I mixed them up as well - In Germany there's only Imperial Blue these days (next to Estoril), which is much darker. Sparkling Brown has been axed a while ago and recently they axed Jatoba Brown as well. Can't remember that they offered Midnight Blue ever over here, but maybe it's been a whlie and I wasn't interested in the F34 back then

Kalahari Beige was first introduced back in 2002 on E65/66. It was also used on E39, E53. It was reintroduced on 3 GT and was not used on F30/31/32/33. However, it was also available on the F36.

Midnight Blue was introduced with the F01 in 2012. It was also used on E71, E84, F22, F23, F32, F33 and F36.

Sparkling Brown was introduced with the F22 in 2013. It was used on E84, E89, F15, F22, F23, F25, F26, F33 and F36.

So, none of those colors are F34 exclusive nor any of them first appeared on the F34. What that press release probably meant is that when it comes to 3 series, those colors were only available on the GT. F30 and F31 were not available in those colors.
