335 brakes saved my @ass today....
so i was driving today on a highway in traffic (not fast at all), and was thinking to switch lanes... so I quickly check my blind spot and as I move my head back OMFG i see the car in front of me slammed on the brakes HARD... I then slamm my brakes with full force and I stop within like 1mm between my bumper and the car in front of me .. f@ck, that was a CLOSE one, good thing the car behind me was holding a big distnace, because I really doubt he would stop like I did ... props to BMW

I had this happen 3 days ago, but I was in the middle of a lane change, and I went somewhat sideways when I slammed the brakes, but made it over into the empty lane... |

SAme thing happened to me on a canyon run. I was doing like 70 or so and all of a sudden, at dusky light, a little bunny rabbit jumped right in front of me and couldn't ponder in which direction to pursue. My hommie and I noticed the little fella at the same time, I SLAMMED the brakes with full force and thought ferShure his teeny life was at an end. I stopped so hard I actually let up. He scurried off in a cottontail frenzy thanking god for making BMW's brakes!

Had the same thing happen to me in 1988 (stopped a fraction of an inch away) only the car behind me didn't stop in time AND the car behind HER didn't stop in time. Five cars involved.
I was driving a Toyota 4Runner, BTW.

Especially when you replace them, costs an arm and a leg, just like an accident.

Agree on BMW brakes. I never felt so comfy and confidence in all my previous cars than the E90. Definitely need these brakes on these E90 beasts!

+1, I woulda squashed his ass. Unless the animal is bigger then my car, i.e. deer I stop and if smaller then my bumper, i.e. bunny wabbit I don't brake at all and he better move his ass or it's road kill.

I'll agree that my lowly 325 brakes have saved me once too in a similar incident. Even though mine r smaller than the 335, they r still the best brakes i've ever had.
Problem is I have almost been rear ended 3x in different cars cause I slammed on the brakes, I look in my rear view, and the person behind me is barreling down on me going 50 when im at like 5 cause they r talking on their cell phone or looking for something in their car. Lucky me they looked up just in time, and slammed on their brakes (some even locked them and screeched loudly to a halt) and stopped inches away from me. So far I remember it was a minivan, ford probe, and older mustang. And all on the same road near the same spot. |

I haven't had the need to lock 'em up yet, but it's nice to know when I need 'em, they'll be there.
Glad they helped you out!
