2007 335i

I suppose I'm a bit late in asking, but I'm still curious to see what the others here think.

I purchased a 2007 E92 335i 6-speed manual, 82k miles. Coupe, Sport package, Pro Navigation/iDrive, almost all options except the really expensive stuff (no active cruise, no automatic high beams, no park distance control).

Was out test driving a few cars on the lot (manual was a requirement) and this one left me captivated. Clean inside and out. Pondered over it for a few days, and decided to go for it.

Came with all the service receipts, was maintained at a respected BMW dealer, and for all intensive purposes was well cared for, and didn't show much in the way of issues during the service visits.

What do you think a fair price would be?

Fair price range to me would be $19K out the door but it'll always depend on the cosmetic condition, location, and the dealership selling the car. Also like everyone will tell you when buying an 07' make sure to see if the turbo's, wastegates, and hpfp were replaced.

^ I'll second that. That's in the ballpark of my very similar car when I picked it up.

Sounds good, glad I was able to confirm that! I was slightly under $19k. Opted to add a warranty at the time, but now trying to be sure I should keep it since it only covers very major items. I've seen a bit of banter on the forums here - seems like some cars are high maintenance, others are fairly low-key.

Not too unlike the world I previously came from - the Taurus SHO. I did all sorts of repairs/maintenance over the years, considering there were 5 in my family's fleet. Some cars were more of a PITA than others, but overall much of it was still routine and not major failure type stuff.

Maybe the warranty for two years is a bit overkill - this car won't see daily use, and it doesn't cover the routine stuff (brakes, tune-ups, even clutch, etc). Any thoughts from those with more experience?

Warranties don't ever cover tue-ups, etc. That's what Maintenance Programs are for.
