Window noise
Getting some window wind noise only on passenger side at high speeds. Would like to bring the car under warranty, but issue is that it only happens at excessive speeds.
Any suggestion on how I should approach my SA on diagnosing this and fixing it? Last edited by cruzine; 05-09-2013 at 02:12 PM.. |

you probably have to take it into the dealer so that they can lubricate the seals
sometimes when the seals dry up you get a rattling noise. I think the lubricant is called gummi pflege. I'm sure that if you look up the name on the forum you will come across many people that have had the same problem as you

Here lies the rub, in order to replicate it, the tech would have to go far in excess of the speed limit here, which they may not want to do.

Thanks will search on the forum. If it's as simple as a lubricant, I think that should be an easy thing for them to try. |

Roll down your driver window and take it for a spin. if the noise goes away its your seals. Usually happens when you take the interior cleaner to your seals.
Get Gummi plfedge. Had this exact problem. I read this fix on here. |

The situation is such as once I exceed a certain speed, it sounds like there's a gap on the passenger side such there isn't a perfect seal and air is getting in, hence the wind noise. The sound is basically like driving on the highway with windows rolled down. I once had someone confirm where the noise was coming from and when additional pressure was placed on the inside glass the noise got worse. |

I only get wind noise if I open and close my window at highway speeds. It sounds like the window isn't sealing properly.
If I stop, then open and close my window it appears to seal correctly and I dont get the wind noise at high speeds any more. Weird huh? Easily repeatable. Happens without fail. |
