RANT RANT!!!
Im 32 and this is my 3rd bimmer...
i recently brought my car in for some "issues" such as metallic clicking, shaking headlights and blah blah... well my dealership had my car for 12 days and never really called me to say what was going on...in fact i had to call them and they were basically like... we were busy....wow great service anyway... i go pick my car up and i have a damaged bumper with paint scratched off.. the metallic clicking is there as soon as i start the car.... where as they say... we never heard it... and my sunroof now doesnt work... i also noticed that when i dropped off the car... i had 13, 010 miles and when i picked it up i had 13, 033... now i kno they test drive it a few time... but.... "23" miles seems to be alot.. well anyway... i tell the sales manager about the damage since the service dept. is closed and he says some shiet that i wasnt happy about... sarcasim... and says he will call me the following day... which they never do... i call the SA and he says i will be in touch with you shortly... 2 days have gone by and NOTHING>.... i think that the customer service is shiet... i mean... they damage my car and then blow me off.... wow... i am certainly suprised with the lack of that they give to there YOUNGER clients since when i am there... i def. c them treating their older clients with 5 series waaaayyy better... i know that the cars are diff. priced but shiet we all pay are car payments right? sorry for the long rant...needed to vent... And for the last time on e90POST ITS IS NOT NORMAL FOR YOUR XENONS TO SHAKE WHEN YOU DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

just dont be nice to them, be rude, so they know you won't take sh!t from them and they will fix it.... if you're so nice to them, they will service "assholes" first and only THEN will they fix your car, i know it sux but it is what it is... i experienced it first time I brought it in

im 25, this is my second bmw, both were new, and every time i bring my car in for servicing, i feel as if theyre all jealous.... lie for fuck sake, i work i earn my money i reward myself with a nice car.... no need to treat me like a young punk, and try to rip me off.... i changed dealership now, theyre a bit better, but i still get the attitude.... i've done all the dealerships in the greater montreal area... and they all suck...
i dont even want to bring my car in for the steering column problem, because i know theyre gonna try to charge me for it, and probably ruin my wheels.... (they ruined my last ones, by washing them with that spray on acid.... and when i told them what they did, they told me "it wasnt us") |

That really sucks that you guys have been treated like this, I only just turned 24. I haven't had anyone be rude to me, nor have I felt any sort of autitude. ...One of the girls told me she was jealous, but said it with a smile on her face.

how about this.... you wanna laugh....
i bring my car in because the power outlets are no longer working.... was just the fuse.... so they change the fuse.... about 3 weeks later, the fuse blew again.... all i use in those plugs is my phone charger and my ipod charger... anyway, i go to the dealership... and i tell the SA that i cant keep coming back to get the fuse changed.... so they told me to stop charging my phone... the girl says, dont charge your phone when its dead.... you make sense of that!!! |

I can sympathize with you on the age thing. I visit service alot (cause I drive alot ) and I have many opportunities to observer the way they treat ppl. Sometime based on age, sometimes based on ethnicity. Trust me, there is no denie that it does not happen. It is ashame that service manager don't address these type of treatments with their SA. I beilieved that being a SA is very stressfull. There are all sort of customers with all sort of personalities and all sort of mood swings.

I'm 26 and never had any issues with my dealership. My 335 will be my third BMW. I always conducted myself respectfully and was always treated the same. You might want to try to find yourself a new dealership.

Also, never forget that as a younger person, if you want to be taken even remotely seriously and treated with respect you have to first give some respect to whomever you are dealing with. You have to Give respect to get respect, then you have to speak clearly, be friendly, look folks in the eyes, and remember that you are just another customer, not a unique delicate flower, not deserving of ANY special treatment, handouts, or white gloves.
If you've had most everything handed to you be happy about it, but remember that nobody else gives a shit. You're a valued customer and should be treated as such. Just don't expect to be mumbling along, slinging your best slang, staring at your feet in your FUBU / Abercrombie&Bitch Hoody and get taken seriously... Not knowing how your appearance and behaviors effect those around you is a huge deficit to effective communication and being listened too.

I test drove at Main Line BWM and the salesman did not take my fiancée and I seriously. He showed no enthusiasm in the ride, didn't tell me anything, and didn't even address my girl once, asking her an opinion or anything. Very disappointing.
Then I went to Ottos BMW in West Chester, and Jay was awesome. He took us out on back-to-back 328/335 rides so we could see the difference, and even offered my girl a chance to drive it herself (she declined, but the point is he included her). He was enthusiastic, told me all about the car and such, and lucky for him it totally sold me on the 335. I already told him I will be showing up to order an '08 for Euro Delivery and he was like "Well I'm glad you asked for me"
