I believe 12.6 is the lowest I've seen too, but that was with drags and some other mods.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Having the best drag strip ET does NOT mean you have the fastest 335i. Since tracks very SO much, unless EVERYONE raced at the same drag strip, it is impossible and honestly quite ignorant to say just because someone has the quickest ET at a particular dragstrip that they have the fastest 335i. There are already people with many mods (PROcede, DP's, Exhaust, intake, intercooler, lightweight wheels, LSD, etc etc) that probably have the fastest 335i's even though at their local tracks they might not be able to break 12.7's because the track is slow (elevation is high, runs slightly uphill, has head winds, high humidity, etc etc and/or is slippery because of bad prep). In order to test the fastest cars, you need to do rolling runs starting at say 40 mph in 2nd gear and going to 150 mph. Get the 10 most modded 335i's in the country together and do those rolling runs. The car that beats out the others is fastest. |

Wow...well said. Didn't even think about those variables.

Well said. Track condition alone is a huge variable. Watch any NHRA event. On the same day, same track, same conditions, I've seen one lane can have as much as a 3 to 1 advantage over the other. And that's just one variable. Also turbo'd cars will be more affected by temp/alt etc.

yes but generally the 1/4 is a good measure, your right with the variables but the OP just wants a time, that he can go to the bar and tell his friends!
i think MAX BOOST, has done a 12.5, he is on www.dragtimes.com with that time! Carlos

Don't forget to take the driver into consideration as well. All the mods in the world can't help you if you don't know how to use them.. Perfect example would be some Procede 335’s running crappy times do to horrendous launches.

It would be cool to see a 335 track day to see who turned the fastest laps, etc.

Werd, 1/4 mile is testing the driver. And some tracks are shittier than other, so time will be different all around... to measure how fast a 335i without driver error, a rolling start is ur best bet. given the driver is not a complete dipshit and can shift properly.

I don't think we'll see a fast 335i until someone successfully replaces the stock turbochargers. I'd love to see one of these suckers trap around 120mph. Hopefully by this spring!
