Tips on buying used 2011 335i Coupe

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I could get a bit of advice or things look out for while buying a used 2011 335i M-Sport 6spd coupe from a 3rd party dealership.

I noticed the car on Autotrader and haven't taken a look at it in person just yet. The car seems to have all the options I want and should still be under the original factory warranty. This 3rd party dealership doesn't seem extremely reputable, I have seen some negative reviews which is turning me off a bit.

Can I take the car to either a BMW dealership and get it inspected to make sure everything is up to snuff? Will BMW honour the remaining factory warranty? At the end of the factory warranty, I know BMW offers extended warranty, would this be offered to me?

Basically I'm wondering what information I should arm myself with and what information I should get from the salesperson when I first walk into that dealership to take a look at the car.

I know this is pretty broad but any information would be much appreciated!

see a CarProof right away! first and fore-most.

other than that, ask for a third-party inspection to be done by BMW. actually, don't ask; demand it. if they don't let you do a third-party, walk. actually, run.

source: i work at a dealership.

Running isn't fast enough. I suggest driving away...in any car that isn't sold from that 'dealership'

Yes, get an inspection by a third party. If they refuse, walk away.

Now, if this is an N55 engine, it seems like it is less of a risk, but still a risk. The factory warranty should still be respected through 50,000 miles and/or 4 years, right?

Find out the mileage and in-service date (as well as the production date).

Join 'car help Canada' .... Probably seen their show on Sundays on cp24 hosted by Mohammed bucham ... Don't know the last name ....

I joined as a member for $60 a year.... And he has a list of reputable 3rd party dealers with preferred pricing and as a member ... I think they offer deals on car inspections...

Worth the money .. IMO

Quoted the wrong post. Meant to quote the OP...asking him if he was looking at cars from that dealership...general consensus has been to stay way from german motorstars..at least from what I've read and my experience there
