another one bites the dust

hey guys, just wanted to share my pain. my 07 e92 got in an accident today. i was driving down a winding mountainside road in El Cajon, CA today when some chick in an SUV came out of a blind turn in MY lane. Once she saw me she swerved back into her her lane but it was too late. My front hit her side. Luckily no one was injured.

Im so glad my friend and i decided to carpool im my car that day, his car would have been totaled and we would have been seriously hurt. Im sold on BMW safety. While my car is completely SOL, im glad that my car took all the pain and suffering. Too bad the auto-body guy said the car is salvageable, i really dont want to drive around in a car that will have such extensive repairs to it.

Does anyone know about AAA coverage? is there some type of replacement policy if the car is less then a year old or it has less then 6500 miles on it? Ill talk to my claim adjuster tomorrow, but i wanted to know if any of you guys have experienced this or have any suggestions for me.

thanks.

man, good thing i didnt fix my front bumper when my sister scrached it up in june. I think that would have pissed me off more

Whoah!
Good thing brotha you and your passenger are a-ok. Could've been so much worse; like flying off a canyon ledge-n-stuff. It looks like that driver front fender just shattered, huh?
Good CAR, good...car.

kinda wierd that your car is pointed toward the other lane; i'd think it'd be kissing the guard rail in the situation you described.

Ouch. Glad you're okay and thanks for sharing the story. It makes me feel safer knowing how well the e90 handled the incident.

Glad to hear youre ok. The only way to compensate for lousy drivers out there is to be in a safer car yourself. Its a shame.

Wow, glad everyone is OK. Definitely discuss options with your insurance co. And this is in El Cajon?! Where exactly is it? Somewhere in the Santee area? Looks like a nice twisty for a drive on a weekend there.

Hope you get your ride back ASAP.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Most inportantly there wasn't any loss of life! your car maybe repairable but you will definitly need to take your car to another shop if your ins allows it to have someone give you another price. the percentages vary from one ins carrier to the next but your damage may need to excede up to 65% of the value of the car before they total it. Glad to hear you and your passenger are okay and I hope things go well with getting you back on the road and spolling up. vroom vroom

With the visible damage in the front and the airbag that went off, your garage guy may well be wrong.

Be very sure to have the structure inspected very carefully, since it could be bent, and if it is - game over=car totalled.
