Is The 335i A Home Run?
In my opinion BMW has hit a home run with their new 335i. This is the car that I was looking for, power and performance in a very nice sport coupe package. The appointment and electronic upgrades from my previous 330i are very impressive, and well suited to the car.
I was not interested in the more aggressive M cars, or the larger 5 or 7 series auto. Had I been, I would have selected one. On my 335 I included every option that I found attractive, and not those that I felt would distract from driving. Had they been offered for the 335, I would have included a limited slip rear end, and the night vision display. Options that I can live with out, but, would have been willing to pay for. Currently at 3250 miles, I look forward to every excuse to drive. That’s my opinion. Thanks BMW

What is a "home run"? Is it the car you want? If so, theres a lot of home runs out there for different people. I think if you get on any forum and ask if the car is a "home run", many will reply yes. After all, that is why they bought it and why they are on the forum.
For me, I think the E92 328 is the home run, since it costs even less |

I think its a homer, but not a very clean homer... what with fuel pump issues, cooling issues, uber-slow iDrive system that seem to reboot itself or appear to hang, etc. Inspite of it all I love my car! |

Well, is it a solo home run, a 2 run home run, a 3 run home run or a grand salami?

If you look at the sales numbers, however, the lowest model of BMW in every "class" outsells the rest by a large margin. Eg- the 328 outsells the 335 by many many times. Same goes for 528 vs. 535, 540 or 550. Guess people just wanna get the BMW name. |

I think that the 335 is a homerun for BMW in that it has brought many buyers to the brand who previously had never even considered buying a BMW. I think that the N54 has caught the attention of many driving enthusiasts who weren't necessarily crazy about BMW before this car. I'm not saying that this applies to everyone, but I think that the car was successful in that sense. Just look at how many ex- Evo, STi, S2000, 350Z, G35 owners are now driving E9x 335's.

For me: e92 = grand salami.
I've been looking for a car for quite some time and just wasn't happy with anything until the 335i coupe. Nothing else had the look, performance, pure driving purity, and luxury all nailed to my liking... I'm going to enjoy it!

I completely agree with the last 3 posts. I always wanted a Bmw but i only wanted a m3 m5 or m6 but they were out of my reach for now. Until the 335 came along! So i am on the bmw boat finally!

Their suppliers almost blighted them...(fuel pump) and the bean counters (no standard oil pump in early cars) and bridgestone (brittle riding and heavy runflats)....
....but yes, a home run! And just when they needed one. There is not a better or more rounded vehicle within 25 grand of it |

There's no doubt in my mind that this car is indeed a home run. Gobs of power delivered in the smoothest fashion, coupled with incredible handling and ever-so-capable brakes. The engine is amazing and the overall package, in my mind, is unbeatable. The car is an excellent value. Sure, I have small nitpicks, but have never been so satisified with any car thus far without any modifications whatsoever.
