Car getting really hot
Whenever I start the car and no matter how long I drive once I get out of the car and leave the car on and stand outside to pick up something or whatever, the heat coming out from my car is unbearable. Its just really really hot, is that normal? or is there something wrong with my car?

what do you expect, it is a hot car (both in visual and in touch form).
I think you have nothing to worry about.

It's worse on a 335i, this car runs super hot.
I could park the car for a few hours after a long drive and come out the hood will still burn your hands.

On a somewhat related note, do you guys feel it's quite warm inside as well? I mean it's like in the upper 60's in SoCal outside, but it feels like 70+ inside. As soon as I turn off the AC, the interior gets warm real quickly.

they made the engine run hotter on purpose. According to the BMW NA Product Manager, it'll help the engine run ready whenever power is needed and keep the oil clean.

Every turbocharged car I've owned has had a heat issue, with two turbos, I expect twice the heat. Those things are spooled from hot exhaust gasses and they are made of ceramic, so they hold the heat. I wouldn't worry about it, I've never heard of the underhood temps destroying the rubber or plastic components or the hood paint. I would, occasionally detail or wash my engine so the dust doesn't add to the heat.

Hot inside
The heat is coming from the hoses and pipes feeding the interior of the car. The aircon cools the pipes down - when you stop and get back in later to drive again, the air in the pipes are heated up from the Engine (residual heat). This causes the heated air to protrude into the vehicle. Good tip is to switch on the FAN to max. for 10 secs. after aircon was used to remove the "cooled" air in the pipes.

We had like 7 days of 100+ degree weather. It was mentioned before that ironically, the oil temp was 10 degrees lower than usual. I averaged between 230 and 235 during the hot weather.
However, when I opened the door and stepped outside, I could feel the heat coming from the car.
