Lost one of my CA remotes, replacement cost
Okay, it's to early to call the dealer. But my wife has misplaced her CA remote I'm worried that a new one may be rather expensive. Any ideas?

it is one of those if you have to ask questions, you probably can't afford it!
I would have to guess it is over $100 at least - I looked it up on the fiche, but there was no price and any of the online parts places could not find the part number for pricing either! |

Wow, can't believe it would be that hard to track down, unless my wife is the only one that has ever lost one. But thanks for the info.
Get this, she must know how much it costs cause she hasn't even told me. I thought it was strange that she started to only drove the BMW when I was out in about in one of our other cars. I leave my BMW fob at home when driving our other cars cause I don't want to keep it on my key chain. I even questioned her about why she doesn't drive the car as much and why my seat doesn't go back to my position when I get into the car after I know she was the last one to drive it. But she said her seat doesn't go back for her as much either! I figured this out just today after I finally decided to look into her pocket book, which is where she use to leave it. Not real happy she kept this from me even after I confronted her. Oh well....

A wild ass guess but I seem to remember reading about a 7 series owner who did the same thing. It was $250 or thereabouts including programming.

Wow, I feel like an ass. Totally false alarm. I just confronted my wife and she had never lost it. She has one of those special hidden pockets in her pocket book that her fob is kept in. I then tried to figure out why it is not remembering to change the seat to my position after she drives it. Well come to find out, if you don't lock the car (we keep it in the garage). The seat stays in the last position it was driven in. In other words, I have my I-drive settings to change the seat position upon unlocking the door. So it has to be locked first for that to work.
I had to apologize big time, but at least were not out all that $$

You need to look at the iDrive settings for both drivers not just one. Set it with the first key, remove, put the other key in, set the iDrive and you should be good.
