Thanks - it was just the one camera, a Hero3 Black running 720P/120FPS - I moved it around between the runs, then stitched it together with windows movie maker

Yeah, I was really excited about the improvement. 1rst run was taken really easy just to make sure I didn't get lost, then 2nd run on about a 300ms improvement per run - Besides run 6 - got out of position near turn 5 and had a decision to either cream 2 cones or go wide and miss the gate - I err'd on the side of my bumper's paint.

I'm really interested how my times will improve when I get these skinny, all-season, low-rolling resistance, run-flat eco crap tires off the car and put some RE-11A's on with 1.5in more tread width and a compound that's meant for cornering instead of fuel-economy. In my first 2 autocrosses, I needed to be about 10% faster to be competitive in my class. Right now I'm blaming the tires - when they wear out (it'll be soon, the rear's are down to 5/32 and fronts are 7/32 - I just rotated them, they'll probably be needing replacement in June at this rate) I'll have to find something else to blame my slow times on

Hey utenigma, I was out there that day in a blue E92 335i. I saw you running, very nice car. I was thinking I'd like to drive the F30 one of these days while I was watching your car go by, and it's always good to see another 335i out there.

Like you, I started out on all season tires. I found that while they weren't grippy, they offered plenty of audible feedback and forced me to focus hard on car control. After about a season and a half, I switched to my current set (Dunlop Z1 Star Specs), and I honestly think I'm ~3 seconds faster. Pretty remarkable.

You can generally tell what the best street tires are by what the local autocross crowd is using. Most guys are running the RS3, Direzza Z1 or Z2, or more recently the BFG Rivals. I'm not personally familiar with the RE-11s, but I know you'll see an improvement.

Just keep at it, and you'll improve every time out. I'll come say hello next time I see you out there

Cool - I got the RE-11A's put on last week - I won't be at the BMWCCA event on Sat (daughter's B-day party conflicts) but I'm going to the Equipe Rapide one on Sunday. We'll see how they do

Cool, I'm officially out on Mineral Wells. I may try to make the ER event, but I'm not sure if I can make it work with the wife. Good luck

I do a couple easy runs to get familiar and then do one just go as fast as you can and hit every cone run. Then i blend the two to get my best runs ha

Are you saying that the app to do the mapping, g load and speed was an iphone app or did you have another tracking device?

Just the iPhone app, track addict

I've since bought an elm wifi obd2 transmitter off ebay ~$30 that adds rpm, throttle pos etc to the export

Yeah, I didn't want the staggered wheels, and I tried, but the ca wasn't able to select summer tires on square wheels
