Keeping 335 In Good Condition

I have drove many cars but I have noticed that even if its the same car and same engine, because of the way the owner drives its car or takes care of it, the power of the engine is different. For example, if you drive a car that has been driven by a women, usually the car does not put out as much as if the driver was a man. I also noticed a friends M3 a little faster than other people's M3 (both being stock). What do you all do to keep the car (engine) in good condition? Is there any way to keep my 335 in better condition than the other man's 335? Frequent oil change, "pedal to the metal" all the time, add engine cleaners, add boosters, etc. Please advise.

The car is a woman. So unless it is a gay car, it will put out for a man.

As long as the woman does, what's the problem?

I dunno I guess if you go by the majority then woman drive that way, but most of the females I know scare the sh!t outta me with how fast they drive and i've taken cars to 150mph+. For me I drive conservatively most of the time, but you have to open that baby up from time to time.. to time =0). Then again.. I don't have my 335 yet.. so i'll just have to wait and see.

Right, if the woman puts out, who cares what the car does at the moment?

+1 No fooling. If you are driving a Buick it may not be the best idea, but otherwise any sort of high performance, Sport or SPORTY car engine really can benefit from good hard running. Keeps them largely carbon free, heated properly, and healthy.

Redline is there for a reason and there is a rev limiter to keep you outta trouble. So drive the hell out of it on a regular basis, your engine will thank you.

I've had a couple of friends with sporty cars who would never really whoop em' get the rpms up and have fun. Their cars ran like shit when compared to how they would run after I had em' for an afternoon. I'd get called the next day and Seth would be asking me "What did you do to my car, it's running so much better?"

Really Really folks. Your fuel mileage will suffer but your engine will thank you! Go out and play, On ramps will work too, and peddle to the floor, shift when you hit redline or just barely before.... Enjoy!

Actually, I know what he is talking about.

My fiance has a 06 Civic, and drives it very casually. Never goes above 4K, and I think I'm the only one who's put it into the VTEC, which was twice.

Another friend has an 06 Civic and drives it like she stole it. It seems much more eager to rev, and a lot quicker.

After driving both back to back, there was a HUGE difference in feel, and the second Civic was much quicker. Now....which one will last longer? Only time will tell...

Both Civic's were equally equiped and both were 5A's.

Only thing I'd ad here other than letting the engine stretch it's legs, is avoid any sort of additives, fuel oil or otherwise. UNLESS, the fuel in your area is truly problematic or you cannot find premium fuel.

+1

Now, not saying that I don't see men driving like idiots also, but I do see quite a few women driving recklessly where I live, and I don't mean just driving fast. It's the really young teenage girls that speed, hug your bumper, change lanes without signaling, all while yapping on a cell phone that really scare the crap out of me and piss me off all at the same time. They're just accidents waiting to happen. I was once rear ended by this 19 year old girl when I was stopped at a traffic light, and the first thing that she yelled when she got out of her car was "Why the &*#% are you stopped?!?" Needless to say, that was an interesting experience, especially hearing her try to explain it to the officer.

While Daejinyoon's post was stereotyping women a bit, your post seemed to be laced with racism. Perhaps I am simply over analyzing, but given the situation, I find his post to be much less outrageous than yours.

...Then again, consider the source....

Sorry Revlis but you're the one whose behind. I said exactly what I meant. The subject of the thread started off fine. The OP's post was dumb. You made an assumption about what I meant to say, and you know what happens when you assume...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it possible that the ECU is at play here? My Dad's old Astro minivan had to "re-learn" after you disconnected the battery (Vortec V6 baby!)

In a modern car, I'd expect that if you drive it like a grandma then it's not going to wail if you start to hammer on it immediately. That doesn't mean it won't wail if you keep hammering on it long enough though. This is especially evident with auto transmissions.
