head room/seat positioning
I went into the dealership today to work out the numbers before my car arrives and they happened to have an 07 335 coupe with the red leather in stock. I haven't seen the coral red in person yet and I've maybe sat in one coupe so I spent about 20 minutes in the car.
I have to say I'm a bit worried now about the head room of the car. I'm not a very tall person at 6', but I felt that if i hit a bump my head would hit the ceiling. I tried adjusting the seat but couldn't get it to go straight down, and it looked like it was as far down as it could go. I actually felt much more comfortable in the back seat than the driver's seat. Was I missing a control or is it just part of the car i'll have to get used to?

Besides the height issue I loved the interior, especially the coral red. It really its a lot nicer in person than pictures.

The proper seat height adjustment is when you can place four fingers on top of your head and just barely touch the headliner. This places your eyes high enough to afford you the best overall visibility. If the seat height adjustment can't get low enough, try reclining the seat back a bit. I've never hit my head from going over any bumps.

For what it's worth, power seats sit a bit higher at their lowest point than the manual seats. (That was true in the sedans I tested, anyway).

Maybe something had rolled or got stuck under that seat in the demo car keeping it from going lower. Check out a different car.

When I test drove the e92, I felt the same as the OP did.
It had power seats, and I couldnt make it go any lower. I was able to "sneak" maybe 2 fingers from top of my head to the roof. I am 6.2 (189cm) for what is worth. I know that some people will say that maybe I have a longer torso, but I dont think that is the case. I test drove a 08' Corvette and I had more room above my head + my seat did not have to be so reclined. I guess, the BMW seats just sit higher than what we expected
