I already signed up for the June Buttonwillow event but I may not be able to make it as it is the same day that our corporate submissions are due WTF. May get a refund and use that to sign up for the Roval.....

also picking up the gas guzzler this saturday!! My target is 8mpg city haha.

I'm probably a miss-out for this one. Too many days off work going to the track! But it is a really fun event and I encourage all local F30 drivers to sign up and go!

Our events are always about the same size - this is not like those open track days where they stuff as many cars as possible on the track in the name of profit. At our HPDE's we only allow as many students as we have instructors. The reason it is during the week is the track rental is cheaper, which allows us to offer a lower price to students.

Signed up. Question, what do you guys do for insurance? Do you have single track day insurance or just go without anything?

If you haven't tracked before, just keep DSC on and you'd have to really drive off the track yourself. EVERY car has an instructor. It's the safest organization to run with. Having said that, as people get faster, they don't want the hand holding anymore and most incidents tend to happen in the faster groups.

Because of how safely our events are organized, you can actually buy HPDE insurance from the company above. Your auto policy won't cover your car at all so it is best to buy the HPDE insurance. It is relatively inexpensive in comparison to writing-off your car!

DSC is a fantastic learning tool. If you can drive an entire session, at speed, with DSC on and it NOT intervening you have liquid smooth inputs. Kudos to you.

I usually go about it this way. I leave it on at the beginning of the day. It's a good safety net. I only allow students to turn it off AFTER they've proven a) they have the line down b) they are consistent c) DSC is actually interfering with their learning instead of being a learning tool.

With that said, the banking at Cal Speedway does weird things to certain versions of DSC in combination with certain tires. Yes, tires and their pressures make a HUGE difference with regard to DSC and if/when it intervenes.

If DSC intervenes (and you'll hear/feel it) at around 7/10ths when on the oval then it's usually best to turn it off. On my E46 quite literally felt like there was a gremlin hitting the rear subframe with a ballpeen hammer.

Maybe enabling DTC is a good idea for not completely turning fail safes off and not intruding on the roval as much. Its the Msport version of MDM lol.

Had a great time, was shocked to see so many F30s show up. Hopefully everyone had a good day and brought their cars home in the same condition they arrived at, maybe with dirtier wheels.

Would love to hear some feedback as to what we can do better, I have some ideas, but my brain is too fried right now to think and type cohesively, so I leave that up to you all.
