Do your guys oil level get lower as you near your oil change?

The last place I used to get my oil changed used Mobile 1 I think as I got closer to the 10k I do my oil it would get lower on the idrive. Got my oil changed by another indy shop highly rated and the oil hasn't dropped one bit.. Been at Max the entire time and I am 2k away from 10k.

When my car was new, it went through a 1L before the first oil change. After that it's been fine (minimal decrease between changes)

It might be the last time is was filled a little higher than the previous shop, or the rings have seated nicely, and it's not burning any.

I thought it was normal until the other day. I lost one "notch" a week or so ago. No big deal, usually see that when I am getting farther into my change interval. What was odd is that I went to check the level Thursday and the indicator was back to max. I have no idea how I got the "notch" back on the indicator. It hasn't gone away since.

Mine burns a bit but I rarely have to add any between changes.
